Mids Wrap Up Play at the William & Mary Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Navy women's golf team placed 19th out of 22 teams at the William & Mary Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort's par-72 River Course this Monday and Tuesday. Navy shot a three-round score of 961 (320-314-327; +97).

Ball State won the team title in the 22-school field with a 54-hole total of 900 (+36). Host William & Mary (901; +37) and Delaware (901; +37) tied for second place, one shot behind Ball State.

Reigning Patriot League women's golf champion Richmond was fourth with a 903 (+39) and fellow league member Lehigh placed 13th with a 937 (+73).

Ball State's Allison Lindley and William & Mary's Liz Choi shared medalist honors in the 118-player field with three-round scores of 217 (+1). Lindley shot a 75-70-72, while Choi shot a 71-72-74.

Junior Jane Moon led Navy with a three-round score of 237. Moon shot an 80 in the opening round, a 4-over par 76 in the second round and an 81 in the third to finish 21 shots over par and in a tie for 58th place.

Moon's 237 is tied for the fourth-best 54-hole tournament score in Navy program history.

Junior Christine Walker was one stroke behind Moon with a 238 (+22) to tie for 65th place. Walker shot a first-round score of 80 and followed with an 81 in the second and a 77 in the third on Tuesday.

Junior Legare Augenstein tied for 91st place with a 244 (81-76-87; +28). Augenstein's second-round 4-over par 76 is her career-low for 18 holes.

Freshman Morgan Frazier tied for 95th place with a 245 (79-83-83; +29) and classmate Abby Schroeder tied for 107th with a 251 (84-81-86; +35).

"We pulled together several good rounds," said Navy head coach Nadia Ste-Marie. "Jane and Legare shot 76s in the second round and Christine shot a 77 today. Monday was a long day with the 36 holes and we struggled on some of the more difficult holes like No. 8 and No. 18."

Navy's three-round team score of 961 tied for its third-best 54-hole tournament score in program history.

Navy will next compete at Wagner's Seahawk Spring Invitational at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa. this Sunday-Monday.
