CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - In recognition of her outstanding play and keen eye for the goal this past weekend, junior forward Ash Fairow of the Navy women's soccer team was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

A starting forward for the Mids in a weekend that saw the team go 2-0, Fairow was a leading factor in each of the victories as she notched both of the game-winning goals for Navy. On Friday at Delaware State, a fourth-minute header goal by Fairow stood up as the game-winner in a 2-0 Navy victory before coming back on Sunday and scoring 89 seconds into the second half with a one-on-one breakaway goal past the UNCW goalkeeper. The Mids held onto a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Seahawks to even their 2017 mark at 2-2.

This is the first weekly award for the Navy program in the young 2017 season. Individually, this is the first career Patriot League weekly honor for Fairow. In the past, the North Carolina native has earned nods on the 2015 and 2016 Patriot League All-Tournament Teams.

Fairow and the Mids will be back in action on Tuesday night with a home non-conference contest versus Mary Washington. The kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
