TEMPE, Ariz. - The Navy gymnastics team continued testing itself on the road in the second half of its 2018 season with a three team meet at Arizona State on Saturday night. Two weeks after competing at the University of Oklahoma and one week after taking on William & Mary and Springfield on the road in the course of 48 hours, the No. 10 Mids traveled to Tempe, Arizona and Arizona State University for a meet versus No. 3 Penn State and No. 14 ASU. At the completion of the event at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex, Penn State finished atop the standings with 402.45 points, while Arizona State was second at 392.2 and Navy third at 388.15.

David Toussaint (Fr., Warren, Ohio) and Frank Bradley (So., McLean, Va.) led the Mids' effort on Saturday night with Toussaint turning in a team-best second-place finish on the pommel horse with a score of 13.8. Bradley left his mark on Navy's team score with three top-10 results. One of 20 gymnasts in each event (ASU had a second team of individuals competing), Bradley was the highest scoring Mid on the floor exercise and vault, while also ranking in the top-10 of ring performers.

As a team, Navy posted a 67.00 on the floor exercise, a 59.85 on the pommel horse, a 65.25 on the rings, a 69.65 on the vault, a 64.1 on the parallel bars and a 62.3 on the high bar.

The Mids' vault lineup was buoyed by a quartet of gymnasts who placed within the top-10. Bradley led the way with a score of 14.15 that ranked fourth overall. Tanner West (So., Cypress, Texas) placed seventh overall with a 14.05, while Noah Beeman (Sr., Dayton, Ohio) and Travis Keller (Fr., Centreville, Va.) finished back-to-back in ninth and 10th with scores of 13.9 and 13.8, respectively.

The second most prosperous event for Navy on Saturday night in terms of top-10 results was the parallel bars. The closely packed trio of Ryan Orce (So., Gainesville, Fla.), Christian Correale (Jr., Harrisburg, Pa.) and Vadim Ivanov (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) spearheaded the Mids' effort. Orce tied for seventh overall with a 13.25-point score. Correale and Ivanov ranked ninth and 10th, respectively with scores of 13.2 and 13.15.

Two Mids placed in the top-10 in each of the floor exercise, rings and high bar. The floor lineup was led by Bradley and Beeman, who placed seventh and 10th with scores of 13.55 and 13.45, respectively. Navy's rings team also saw Bradley amongst the highest scorers with a 13.15 result that placed ninth overall. Correale was the top-finishing Mid in eighth at 13.2. On the high bar, Ryan McVay (Fr., Roseville, Calif.) had top honors with a 12.8-point score that was eighth best. Max Gerber (Fr., Dix Hills, N.Y.) made it two Mids in the top-10 with a score of 12.55 that was 10th overall in the field.

On the pommel horse, Toussaint was only Mid in the top-10 with his second-place result of 13.9. Trailing just Penn State's Stephen Nedoroscik (14.85), Toussaint was 0.4 points clear of the next closest competitor, Colin Coates from Penn State at 13.4.

Navy will close out its regular season next Saturday, March 17 with a home meet versus Michigan and William & Mary. The tri-meet will start at 2 p.m. following a short presentation honoring the Mids' Senior Class of 2018, Noah Beeman, Vadim Ivanov and Andy Jones.
