ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy intercollegiate sailing team will compete in two national championships in the coming days at the Old Dominion University Sailing Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Live scoring will be available for every round, while live video will be available for the final round of the women's national championship and the final three days of the coed national championship.

The teams will sail LaserPerformance Club Flying Juniors (FJs) and LaserPerformance Z420s on the waters of the Elizabeth River.

Navy will first compete in the Sperry College Sailing Women's National Championship Western Semifinals on Tuesday and Wednesday. Navy will need to finish in the top-nine of the 18-team Western semifinals to advance to the 18-team championship round on Thursday and Friday.

Navy placed ninth in the women's semifinal round last season before placing 18th in the championship round.

The LaserPerformance Team Race Nationals will be held after the women's national championship from May 26-28. Navy did not qualify for the team championship this season.

Navy will compete in the Gill College Sailing Coed National Eastern Semifinals from May 29-30. Navy will again need to finish in the top-nine of the semifinal round in order to advance to the 18-team championship round from May 31-June 1.

The Mids placed first in the coed semifinal round last season and then placed eighth in the championship round.
