Setting the Stage
•   Navy and USF will meet on the gridiron for the third time, all as conference foes, when they square off on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (34,000). Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm. Saturday's game is presented by Navy Mutual.
•   The Mids are looking to win three-consecutive games for the first time since 2017 when they won five in a row to start the year.
•   CBS Sports Network will televise Saturday's game with John Sadak, Randy Cross and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call.
•   The Navy Football Insider Show with Joe Miller will air on Thursday night from 7:00-8:00 pm on WBAL Radio (1090 AM, 101.5 FM). Pete Medhurst, Keith Mills and Scott Wykoff will contribute to the show.
•   The Navy Football Tailgate Show on WNAV Radio 1430 AM / 99.9 FM will air from 1:30-2:30 pm with Wylie Baker and Bill Lusby serving as the hosts.
•   Scott Wykoff and Keith Mills will host the Navy Football Insider Show on Saturday from 2:00-2:30 pm on WBAL Radio (1090 AM, 101.5 FM).
•   The Navy Football Pregame Show with Pete Medhurst, Joe Miller, Keith Mills and Scott Wykoff will get underway at 2:30 pm on the Navy Radio Network, followed by game action beginning at 3:30 pm with Medhurst, Miller and Mills on the call. Â
•   Following the contest, Medhurst, Miller, Mills and Wykoff will recap the day's events in a 30-minute postgame show.
Game Day Festivities
•   The Navy football team will arrive at the Blue Angel on the West (Blue) side of the stadium at approximately 1:00 pm. The team will walk down the sidewalk and through NavyFest before walking to the tunnel. Fans are invited to stand on both sides of the sidewalk to cheer on the players.
•   The March-On of the Brigade of Midshipmen will begin at 3:11 pm.
•   The National Anthem will take place at 3:21:30 pm, followed by a flyby at the end of the National Anthem.
•    Saturday's flyby will feature four Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornets from the "GUNSLINGERS" of VFA-105 based out of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va. Piloting the lead aircraft will be Lt. Cmdr. Jim Sheets, USNA Class of 2006, in the slot, Executive Officer Cmdr. Alex Armatas, Class of 2002, left wing Lt. Cmdr. Brian Jones, Class of 2007 and right wing Lt. Aaron Dougherty, Class of 2014. The GUNSLINGERS are attached to Carrier Airwing 3 and are preparing for a 2020 combat deployment aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
•    A parachute jumper from team Fasttrax will jump into the stadium at 3:28 pm.
•   Kickoff on Saturday is slated for 3:32 pm. Please note there is a chance kickoff and all activities noted above could be pushed back by five minutes if the first game on CBS Sports Network is running long. That decision will be made before the clock hits 2:32 pm. If the game is held for five minutes, the clock will be held for five minutes at 2:32 pm.
•   The sprint football team will be honored between the first and second quarter for winning the 2018 Collegiate Sprint Football League title. Navy (7-1) posted a 24-10 victory over rival Army (6-1) in the second annual CSFL Championship Game. The CSFL Championship is the 30th outright league title for the Midshipmen.
 •   At halftime, the Drum & Bugle and USNA band will perform. Â
•   The pilots from the flyby will be recognized between the third and fourth quarters. Â
•   Following the game, Navy's alma mater, Navy Blue & Gold, will be played as the team stands at attention in front of the Brigade of Midshipmen. It is one of the best traditions in all of sports.

The Sunshine State
•   Navy has six players from the state of Florida on its roster, including sophomore starting linebacker
Diego Fagot (Ft. Lauderdale) and freshman
Derek Atwaters (Pompano Beach), who plays on special teams.
Scouting USF
•   USF enters Saturday's game with a 3-3 record and winners of three of its last four contests. The Bulls started the year with losses to Wisconsin (49-0) and Georgia Tech (14-10), but have rebounded to beat South Carolina State (55-16), UConn (48-22) and BYU (27-23). The only loss during that span was a 48-21 setback against SMU.
•   Jordan McCloud has taken over at quarterback after the Bulls lost starter Blake Barnett to an ankle injury. McCloud has completed 55 percent of his passes (49-89, 624 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions), while Barnett, a transfer from Alabama and Arizona State, has completed 52 percent of his passes on the year (40-77, 434 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions).
•   Running back and Florida transfer Jordan Cronkrite, who is coming off a 158-yard, two touchdown performance against BYU, leads the USF rushing attack with 383 yards on 79 carries (4.8 yds/carry).
•   Running back / wide receiver Johnny Ford is the top target in the USF passing game, catching 13 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Mitch Wilcox has four touchdown catches among his 12 receptions on the year.
•   Linebacker Patrick Macon, an Oklahoma State transfer, leads the USF defense with 42 tackles, eight tackles for a loss and two sacks. Linebacker Dwayne Boyles has been in on 35 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks.
•   The Bulls are fourth in the country in turnovers gained (15) and in fumble recoveries (9) and No. 1 in tackles for a loss per game (10.3).
•   Bentlee Sanders is 10th in the country in kickoff returns, averaging 29.2 yards per return.
•   Trent Schneider is 13th in the country in punting average (45.7 yards per punt).
•   USF has transfers from Arizona State / Alabama, Florida, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State / Oklahoma State and Notre Dame.
Notes from the Tulsa Game
•   Navy owns a 6-1 advantage in the series against Tulsa, winning each of the last 5 contests. Niumatalolo is 5-0 against the Golden Hurricane.
•   It was the first time this season in which Navy's defense did not force a turnover.
•   Navy's defense finished with a season-low six tackles for a loss. The Mids had posted at least seven TFLs in every game prior to this one.
•   Navy's defense held Tulsa to 69 yards rushing, the second fewest by an opponent this season (64 by Holy Cross).
•   The 10 Tulsa penalties tied as the second most by a Navy opponent during the Niumatalolo era and the most since Texas State was flagged for 11 in 2014.
•   Sophomore fullback
Jamale Carothers carried the ball five times for 52 yards and a touchdown. He scored his first career touchdown on a career-long 19-yard run. On his first career carry, he gained 16 yards for the Mids. Carothers caught his first collegiate pass on a 26-yard pass from slot back
CJ Williams.
•   Senior wide receiver
OJ Davis caught his first pass of the year and third of his career for a 9-yard gain.
•   Junior defensive tackle
Mike Flowers recorded his first career sack.
•   Freshman safety
Chelen Garnes had seen action in the first four games primarily as a member of special teams. He came into the game with no tackles and finished with six.Combined with
Diego Fagot to post his first collegiate sack, dropping Zach Smith for a loss of eight yards.
•   Sophomore corner
Michael McMorris recorded a career-high eight tackles and a career-high three pass breakups.
•   Junior striker
Jacob Springer recorded a season-high tying six tackles. He also had six vs. Air Force.
•   Junior slot back
CJ Williams threw and completed his first collegiate pass, a 26-yarder to
Jamale Carothers on what was Carothers' first career reception.
•   Sophomore defensive end
Deondrae Williams turned in his first collegiate sack.
