ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The 16th-ranked Navy squash team (3-3) suffered its second setback in as many matches this week to a top-10 ranked program, as No. 4 Princeton (1-0) shut out the Mids Saturday in Annapolis. Navy dropped an 8-1 decision on Wednesday against No. 9 Virginia in what was the Mids' first trip to Charlottesville.
The Highlights
• The Tigers had four players in action against the Mids that helped lead them to an eighth-place finish in last year's College Squash Association Team Championship, including Adhitya Raghavan. Navy team captain
Michael Kacergis (Sr / Malvern, Pa.) won the opening game against Raghavan, 11-9, but the Princeton senior and 2019 All-American won the final three games to take the win over Kacergis at No. 2.
• Junior
Jack Lentz (Philadelphia, Pa.) jumped out to an early lead on Princeton's Cole Becker at the No. 1 position with an 11-8 win, but Becker, who came to Princeton as the No. 2 ranked U-19 player in the United States, earned a hard-fought victory with 11-3, 13-11 and 14-12 wins.
• Sophomore
Ben Korn (Stevenson, Md.) took his Virginia foe to four games last Wednesday and on Saturday pushed his match against returning starter Howe Cheng to five games. Cheng built a 2-0 lead, but Korn leveled the match with back-to-back wins (12-10 and 11-7). Cheng, however, would push forward for the victory with an 11-6 win in the fifth.
