BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Navy water polo student-athletes
Isaac Salinas (Spring City, Pa.) and
Trevor Clark (San Marcos, Calif.) were named to the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference-East Region All-Conference team. Salinas was named to the first team, while Clark was tabbed second team.
Salinas, who was a second-team selection as a freshman, finished the regular season with a team-high 92 points. The sophomore led the team with 79 goals, while adding 13 assists on the year. Salinas paced the Midshipmen with 29 steals, while also leading the team with 34 ejections drawn.
The 92 points by Salinas are the most by a Midshipmen since Carl Dowzicky led the team with 94 points (64g 30a) as a senior in 2015. Salinas is eight points shy of becoming the first Mid to record 100 or more points since Paul Pedrotty notched 137 points (91g 46a) in 2012.
Clark, who earned all-conference distinction for the first time in his career, concluded the regular season with a career-high 31 total points. The senior was third on the team with 30 goals, while adding an assist. Clark added 18 ejections drawn on the year, while registering nine steals.
Navy begins action in the 2019 MAWPC Tournament this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. as the Midshipmen take on the fifth seeded Wagner Seahawks at Kinney Natatorium on the campus of Bucknell.
