DANBURY, Conn. - Freshman pommel horse specialist
Dan Clark was announced on Tuesday as the ECAC Rookie of the Week in recognition of his efforts at the 2019 All-Academy Championship this past Saturday.
The freshman from Avon, Massachusetts was a key member of Navy's pommel horse lineup at the championship meet between the host Mids, Air Force and Army as Clark contributed 13.2 points of the unit's 66.35 overall event score. Clark placed sixth overall in the field of 18 gymnasts and helped the Mids win the event, one of five apparatuses that they out-scored their opponents at the contest. During the early stretch of action for Clark in 2019, the freshman stands fifth in the ECAC conference with a 13.317 average. Nationally, that average ranks Clark 25th overall.
This is the first career ECAC weekly award for Clark in his young career. As a program in 2019, Navy gymnasts have now collected five weekly honors ...
