DANBURY, Conn. - Freshman pommel horse specialist
Dan Clark was announced on Tuesday as the ECAC Rookie of the Week after a career-best performance at the Penn State tri-meet this past Saturday.
The freshman from Avon, Massachusetts was the top-scoring member of Navy's pommel horse lineup in the non-league competition between the Mids, Penn State and Air Force as he tallied a 13.9-point result. In the field of 15 gymnasts that score was fourth best and just 0.15 points out of second place. Prior to Saturday's meet, Clark's career-high on the pommel horse was a 13.55 at William & Mary on Jan. 26. Currently, the fourth highest scoring pommel horse competitor in the ECAC, Clark stands 20th in the nation with a 13.55 average.
This is the second career ECAC weekly award for Clark in his young career as he was the recipient two weeks on Feb. 12. As a program in 2019, Navy gymnasts have now collected six weekly honors, including four Rookie of the Week nods ...

Navy will back in action with a pair of ECAC meets this coming weekend. First up, the Mids will go head-to-head versus William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on Friday night at 6 p.m. before heading up to Massachusetts for another dual-meet on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. versus Springfield.
