Seven Navy Varsity Sports Programs Receive NCAA APR Public Recognition

The most of the three Service Academies

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Seven Naval Academy varsity sports programs – football, men's cross country, men's lacrosse, men's track & field, women's cross country, women's soccer and women's track & field --  are among those who received NCAA recognition for standing among their sport's top 10 for Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.  The seven programs were the most among the Service Academies as Air Force had six and Army three.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each recruited student-athlete. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation to provide a measure of each team's academic performance. This year's APR report is a multi-year rate based on scores from the academic years 2014-15 through 2017-18.
