Jackson Named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week
Riding a six-game winning streak into Tuesday's matchup, the Mids received even more good news on Monday as senior defender
Alex Jackson (Centennial, Colo.) was selected as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week. Jackson was a two-way threat for the Mids this past week as she offered up top-level results on both defense and offense as the team went 2-0. After helping Navy secure its fourth shutout of 2019 on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Gardner-Webb, she showcased her offensive talent on Sunday at La Salle with a pair of goals versus the Explorers. Jackson's first goal initially gave Navy a 2-1 lead in the second half before later putting the Mids up for good 3-2 with less than 13 minutes left in regulation. The senior defender never left the field as she played all 180 minutes during the week.
