Navy Notes
• Sixth-season Navy head coach Joel Sharratt has led Navy to a 3-3 record this season.
• Behind a 21-12 victory over Maryland on Dec. 6, Navy claimed the program's 900th victory (900-309-26) in its 112-year history.
• The Mids have wins over Fresno State (25-9), California Baptist 27-9) and Maryland (21-12), while dropping matches to No. 6 Wisconsin (24-12), No. 1 Penn State (45-0) and Lock Haven (19-15).
• Returning NCAA qualifiers Tanner Skidgel (165) and Spencer Carey (174) have both been ranked among the nation's top 20 in their respective weight classes throughout the season, while first-year starter Logan Treaster (125) entered the top 20 this week. Skidgel stands No. 8 in the Intermat rankings with a 12-4 overall mark and a 4-2 dual record. Carey has put together a 10-4 mark on the season and is 3-2 in dual competition. He is ranked 16th nationally. Treaster, meanwhile, owns a 13-5 record and is ranked No. 20.
Logan Treaster has produced a team-best 5-1 record in dual action this season, while Tanner Skidgel (165) and rookie Jacob Koser (197) stand 4-2 in their respective weight classes.

Weekly Rewind
• Three Navy wrestlers reached the podium en route to guiding the Midshipmen to an 11th-place finish at the 2020 Southern Scuffle, presented by Compound Sportswear, Jan. 1-2 at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga.
• 2019 NCAA qualifier Tanner Skidgel was the Mids' top placewinner with a second-place finish at 165 pounds.
• Also placing were 125-pound Logan Treaster (4th) and 133-pound Casey Cobb (8th).
• No. 2 seed Tanner Skidgel turned in a 5-1 record and suffered his only loss of the two-day tournament to Stanford's Shane Griffin, seeded No. 1 and ranked No. 7, by a 2-1 count in the championship bout. Both wrestlers earned a point for an escape, but Griffin was awarded the match-winning point after Skidgel was twice warned for stalling.
Logan Treaster leads the team with a 13-5 record this winter after putting together a 6-2 mark at the Scuffle.
• After dropping his opener to Stanford's Jackson DiSario, 9-2, Treaster won six consecutive matches to earn a spot in the 3rd/4th-place match.
• Treaster earned his first career win over a ranked wrestler when he dealt second-seeded and seventh-ranked Nic Aguilar of Rutgers a 4-1 loss in the consolation bracket.
• Treaster faced Virginia Tech's Sam Latona in what turned into a game of chess as the two battled it out for third place. Following a scoreless opening period, Latona took the lead with an escape in the third before Treaster leveled the match with an escape in the third. The two wrestlers were unable to settle the score through three one-minute sudden victory periods and three 30-second tie breakers. Latona, however, was the victor after gaining riding time in the final 30-second tie breaker (rode out Treaster in the first 30 seconds and then chose the neutral position and was not taken down).
• Taking eighth at 133 pounds was junior Casey Cobb, who finished the tournament with a 5-3 record.
• Team captain Spencer Carey came into the tournament seeded third and ranked 16th at 174 pounds. He opened the tournament by winning three straight matches before dropping a 13-5 major decision to sixth-seeded and eventual champion Carter Starocci of Penn State.
• Carey captured his 50th career victory by way of a 5-2 decion over Rutgers' Willie Scott at the Scuffle.
