ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women's tennis (14-2) ends a stretch of 16 of its first 17 spring matches at home on Saturday as the Midshipmen host Temple (5-4) at 10:30 a.m. inside the Tose Family Tennis Center. Following the home match on Saturday, Navy travels to Florida for its Spring Break trip, which begins on Sunday. The Midshipmen are slated to face Indiana University of Pennsylvania (5-1) in Orlando, Fla., on Sunday at 7 p.m. and then travels to North Florida (8-1) on Monday. Navy's final two matches of its trip are set for Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Appalachian State (5-4) and Wednesday at 9 a.m. against Lees-McRae (6-3) with both matches taking place in Orlando.

The Midshipmen are off to their second-best start in program history as they begin the weekend with a record of 14-2 overall. This season's mark through 16 matches is just behind its 2012 spring slate when Navy started 15-1 through 16 contests. The Midshipmen have also won their last nine matches with their last loss coming against Big Ten foe Indiana in a tight 4-3 affair.

Since the beginning of the spring season,
Annalise Klopfer has paced Navy in singles competition as she has won all nine of her appearances in dual matches and she has won her last 10 matches in a row going back to the fall. Klopfer's 9-0 spring record has paced her to a 14-10 record overall.
Jillian Taggart leads the Midshipmen with a singles mark of 17-4 overall and she has posted a 5-0 record in duals.

Last weekend,
Kaylah Hodge became the all-time doubles wins leader in program history as she picked up her 72nd doubles victory in a 6-1 win over Drexel. On the season, Hodge is one four Mids with 15 doubles victories to lead the way.

Temple starts the week with a 5-4 record and heads to Georgetown on Friday before facing off against the Midshipmen on Saturday. After starting the year with three-straight losses, the Owls have bounced back and won five of their last six contests. Temple's only loss in that stretch came to Long Island in a 4-1 decision. Last season, Temple finished the year with a 13-7 record and dropped all three of its American Athletic Conference matches and lost a 4-0 decision to Memphis in the first round of the AAC Championship.

Navy's first Spring Break opponent comes on Sunday against Indiana (Pa.). The Crimson Hawks enter the weekend with a 5-1 record and have won their last three competitions. Indiana (Pa.) suffered its lone loss of the season on Feb. 16 against Denison in a 4-3 match. Joanna Stralka leads the Crimson Hawks this season with a 17-1 record and she has gone 4-0 in dual matches this year playing at the No. 1 spot in each of her appearances. Stralka has also partnered with Mariana Valenzuela to go 10-2 in doubles matches on the season.

North Florida is currently 8-1 on the year and is set to host Penn State prior to hosting the Midshipmen on Monday. The Ospreys have controlled their home court and are 6-0 at home this spring. The lone loss for North Florida came at the hands of No. 24 Florida in a 6-1 decision in Gainesville. Lucia Montano -- who is ranked 98th in the country -- has posted a team-best 18-4 singles record for the Ospreys while going 7-2 at the No. 1 spot. Montano has also collected 18 doubles victories with her partner Ana Paula Melilo. Last season, the Osprey's won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament title and appeared in the NCAA Tournament and took on No. 4 South Carolina.

Appalachian State is set to head down to Florida with a record of 5-4 overall and the Mountaineers have dropped their last two matches but picked up a ranked win over No. 48 East Carolina, 4-3. Appalachian State has five individuals with double-digit singles wins and its No. 1 singles in nearing the 10-win mark after going 8-0 to start her season. Maria Zacarias and Cassie McLay have been the top doubles team for the Mountaineers going 15-6 this year.

Lees-McRae is currently 6-3 on the year and has won its last four matches. In the Carolinas Conference Tournament last spring, the Bobcats earned the seventh seed in the tournament and dropped an opening-round match to second-seeded Emmanuel, 4-0. This season, Lees-McRae started its conference slate with a 4-3 win over Erskine, which was sparked by the Bobcats winning the doubles point.

After Navy's Spring Break trip, it will begin Patriot League play and the Midshipmen will have six of their final seven matches at home.
