BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League released its weekly awards announcement on Monday and Navy's
Alexa Riddle (Fr., Tomball, Texas) was selected as the conference's Rookie of the Week for her standout efforts against Delaware State and Lehigh this past week.
The Mids' freshman forward tallied points in both of Navy's wins this week as she assisted on
Sophie Utsinger's score versus Delaware State on Monday before notching a goal of her own just 83 seconds into Friday night's matchup with Lehigh. Navy won Monday's game by a score of 5-0 before earning a 2-1 decision over Lehigh in conference action. Over 89 combined minutes of play between the two contests, Riddle took seven shots with one goal and one assist to her name. Through 14 games this season, she is second on the team with 11 points courtesy of three goals and five assists.
As a program, this is the sixth weekly award that a Navy player has earned this season as
Caitlin Doran has twice garnered nods as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 24 and Aug. 30), while
Katie Herrmann was named Midfielder of the Week on Aug. 24,
Chloe Dawson was selected as Defender of the Week on Aug. 30 and
Mattie Gallagher was the Goalkeeper of the Week on Aug. 30.
Navy has a busy slate of action ahead this week with a Wednesday road tilt at American at 3 p.m. and a home rivalry game against Army on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
