BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Navy women's soccer program was at the forefront of the Patriot League weekly awards announcement on Monday afternoon as Midshipmen players garnered four the conference's five weekly honors in recognition of the team's 2-0 week with wins over American and Army. Alexa Riddle (Fr., Tomball, Texas) was selected as both the Patriot League Offensive and Rookie of the Week, while Chloe Dawson (So., Fairfax, Va.) was the Defensive Player of the Week and Mattie Gallagher (So., Gilbertsville, Pa.) was the Goalkeeper of the Week.

The Mids' freshman forward had a critical hand in Navy going 2-0 this week with victories over American and Army. Riddle tallied both of the Mids' goals against the Eagles on Wednesday in a 2-0 victory before she led off Saturday night's contest versus the Black Knights with a goal in the 15th minute. For the week, she finished with three goals scored on six shots taken over 110 minutes of action. This is the second straight week that Riddle has earned an honor from the league as she was named the Rookie of the Week last Monday. She currently has at least one goal in each of her past three games and points in six straight. In the statistical standings, Riddle ranks second in the Patriot League in points (17) and goals (6), while sitting fourth with five assists.
  
Dawson was a pivotal cog in Navy's 2-0 week in which the Mids allowed just one goal and shut out American on Wednesday. Dawson was on the field for 162 of 180 minutes this week with 72 against the Eagles and a complete 90 versus Army on Saturday night. Offensively, she assisted on Riddle's second goal of the game against at American. The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Dawson is now a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week this season after garnering the accolade on August 30. She ranks fifth in the conference with four assists over 15 games so far in 2021.
 
Gallagher was a stalwart in goal for Navy in the Mids' undefeated week of action. The sophomore goalkeeper opened the week by shutting out American with a pair of saves on Wednesday. Taking on rival Army on Saturday, Gallagher made four saves to open the contest before the Black Knights tallied a late goal in the 71st minute. For the week, she posted a 2-0 record, a 0.50 GAA and a .857 save percentage over 180 minutes. This is the second Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honor for Gallagher in 2021 as she grabbed the award on August 30. She currently ranks second in the league with three solo shutouts and third with a .768 save percentage in 15 games of action.

Navy will be in non-conference action this evening with a road tilt at Howard University beginning at 7:00 p.m.
