ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy heavyweight rowing team is slated to compete this Saturday at the 2021 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia. The Mids' freshmen fleet will be on display on the Schuylkill River as Navy has three entries in the Men's Collegiate Freshmen Eights competition at 12:15 p.m. The race will be held on a 2.5-mile course near Fairmount Park with a view of the historic Boathouse Row. The action in Philadelphia will have a live video feed and results provided by the race organizers.
Navy most recently competed at the Head of the Schuylkill in 2018. Saturday is the penultimate fall regatta for the program as the Mids are set to wrap up their 2021 campaign next Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Princeton Chase.
Last week, the first and second varsity heavyweight crews competed at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston with the 2V8 earning a third place result in the Club Eights race, while the V8 boat placed 10th against a top-flight field in the Championship Eights.
