GREENSBORO, N.C. –– Five members of the Navy men's swimming and diving team competed in events Friday at the NCAA Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
 
The first full day of competition at the meet being held in the Greensboro Aquatic Center began with Luke Johnson (Sr., Charlotte, N.C.) and Garrett McGovern (Fr., Nashville, Tenn.) entered into the 500 freestyle.  Johnson placed 35^th with his clocking of 4:19.48 and McGovern finished in 49^th place with an effort of 4:21.88.
 
Micah Oh (Sr., Kent, Wash.) followed with a 49^th-place showing in the 200 individual medley by virtue of his time of 1:48.39.
 
The first diving competition of the meet was the one-meter springboard event.  Navy's Jake Hedrick (Sr., Hummelstown, Pa.) scored 257.05 points to place 38th and Patrick Carter (Sr., West Islip, N.Y.) tallied 183.15 points to finish in 46th place.
 
Carter, Hedrick and Caleb Mauldin (Jr., Chesapeake, Va.) all will compete on Friday.
