GREENSBORO, N.C. –– The Navy men's swimming and diving team closed out its 2021 NCAA Championship with four Mids in competition Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
"It is always a goal to get to this meet," said Navy men's swimming head coach
Bill Roberts. "We are very happy to have had the opportunities to get here this year. As far as the meet itself went, it was bittersweet as we knew we could have been a little bit better. Still, we gained some tremendous experience competing at this level of competition and feel we can build upon this moving forward."
The day begin in the morning with
Micah Oh (Sr., Kent, Wash.) posting a time of 1:45.01 in the 200 butterfly trial heats. He finished in 36th place in the event.
Jake Hedrick (Sr., Hummelstown, Pa.) followed by competing in the platform diving event. He scored 248.00 points to place 36th in the preliminary rounds of the event.
"I am really proud of how Jake competed at this meet," said Navy diving coach
Rich MacDonald. "Just to make it here is a huge accomplishment. Out of the 18 dives he had this week, I would say he missed on only two of them. That's more than I can say for a lot of his competitors."

Luke Johnson (Sr., Charlotte, N.C.) and
Garrett McGovern (Fr., Nashville, Tenn.), who were entered into the timed finals of the 1650 freestyle. Johnson finished in a time of 15:04.61 to place 18th in the event and McGovern recorded a time of 15:11.97 to place 24th.
