Cody Trybus (Sr / Elkton, Md.),
Casey Cobb (Sr / Kuna, Idaho) and
Tanner Skidgel (Sr / Tulsa, Okla.) were recognized by the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) for their success both on and off the mat.
The five Navy wrestlers were among the 59 student-athletes representing 10 member schools who received EIWA Academic Achievement Awards for the 2020-21 season. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 and participated in the EIWA Championship OR achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and qualified for the NCAA Championship through the EIWA.
A two-year starter at 125 pounds, Treaster placed second at the 2021 EIWA Championship, earning his first bid to the NCAA Championship. He produced an 11-4 mark this season, while closing out his career with a 55-24 record.
A two-time recipient of the EIWA's academic award (2020, '21), Treaster owns a 3.66 grade-point average in chemistry. He has been named to the Superintendent's (2x), Commandant's (7x) and Dean's (3x) Lists multiple times. Treaster, who is ranked among the top 25 percent of his class (1,115 members) in Academic, Military and Overall Order of Merit, will graduate on May 28 and be commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy. His service assignment is Navy Medical Corps.
Through five semesters at the Academy, Allen owns a 4.00 grade-point average in Operations Research. He has been named to the Superintendent's and Commandant's List every semester and stands No. 1 in his class (1,137) in Academic Order of Merit, No. 4 in Military Order of Merit and No. 3 in Overall Order of Merit. This is the second time he has garnered recognition from the EIWA, earning the award in 2019 as a starter at 125 pounds.
Allen also stood tall on the mat, where he garnered his first NCAA Championship berth after placing second at the 2021 EIWA Championship as the No. 7 seed at 133 pounds. He upset second-seeded Darren Miller of Bucknell by major decision (10-1), along with sixth-seeded Mark Montgomery of Army in sudden victory (3-1) to earn the opportunity to wrestle in the EIWA finals where he dropped a hard-fought 4-2 decision to top-seeded Malyke Hines of Lehigh. He went on to defeat 17th-ranked Anthony Madrigal of Oklahoma, the 11th seed, in sudden victory (7-1) to claim his first-collegiate NCAA Championship win. He closed out the year with a 9-7 record.
Navy's team captain, Trybus led the Mids from the front throughout the year both on the mat and in the classroom. The four-year letter winner became a two-time NCAA Qualifier after claiming his second EIWA title at 141 pounds. He gave up just two points in three matches en route to becoming one of 33 wrestlers in program history to win multiple EIWA crowns. He entered the 2021 NCAA Championship undefeated on the year and had won 21-consecutive matches. He opened the NCAA Championship with a 20-1 victory over Appalachian State's Anthony Brito before falling to sixth-ranked Allan Hart of Missouri, 4-1. He finished the year with a 13-2 record, while closing out a spectacular career with a 66-29 mark.

Cobb was awarded the No. 2 seed for the 2021 EIWA Championship, but was forced to withdraw from the competition due to COVID-related protocols. A few days later, however, Cobb received an at-large berth to the NCAA Championship, his second in two years. Cobb finished the year with an 8-3 record, while posting a 50-27 career mark.
A mechanical engineering major, Cobb owns a 3.01 grade-point average and has earned Commandant's List mention five times. This is the third-consecutive year he has received academic honors from the EIWA. He graduates in May and will be commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. His service assignment is Marine Corps Ground.
After dropping his opening match of the season, a 5-2 dual to Pitt's jack Wentzel, 165-pound Skidgel went on to win 11-consecutive matches, including his first two bouts of the 2021 EIWA Championship that sent him to the finals for a third-consecutive year. He punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship for a third time, placing second at the 2021 EIWA Championship after winning back-to-back titles in 2019 and '20. He opened the NCAA Championship with a 3-2 victory over Wyoming's Cole Moody before bowing out with back-to-back losses to fourth-seeded Mekhi Lewis of Virginia Tech (3-2 Dec) and 19th-seeded Gerrit Nijenhuis of Purdue (7-4 Dec).
