BALTIMORE, Md. — The list of accolades continues to build for Navy senior lacrosse player
Spencer Rees (GK / Baltimore, Md.) who was named a Third-Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine Tuesday evening. This is the second All-America citation earned by Rees this season, after it was announced on Sunday that he had been selected as an Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse.
As a first-year starter, Rees finished the 2021 campaign with a 9.88 goals-against average that stands 17th nationally, while his 58.9 save percentage is #5 and his 14.00 saves per game ranks fifth. Meanwhile as a team, the Mids were the nation's 12th-ranked scoring defense (10.00 GPG), while their man-down squad stopped 20 of the 29 extra-man opportunities (69.0) to rank 23rd.
USA Lacrosse Magazine identified 66 players overall as All-Americans, including first-, second- and third-team honors as well as honorable mentions. The list was list compiled by staff and contributors, with input from college coaches and other sources.
The 2021 USILA All-Americans are expected to be announced leading into the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Semifinals.
