ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior long snapper
Kyle Gibbs has been named a Second-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Gibbs, who started all 10 games for the Mids in 2020, graduated with a 3.87 grade point average in ocean engineering and was the only Service Academy player to be selected to the first or second team.
Gibbs is the ninth Navy football player to be named an Academic All-American since
Ken Niumatalolo became the head coach in 2008. Prior to that, Navy had 11 Academic All-Americans in the previous 55 years.
