Women's Schedule
Coming off an abridged 2020-21 campaign that saw the women's team and first-year head coach
Tim Taylor go 5-7 with a 5-3 mark in limited Patriot League action, the Mids have their eyes locked on Opening Day 2021-22 with a home tilt versus Georgetown on Nov. 9. That game versus the Hoyas is the first of 10 non-conference games, of which seven of those matchups will be hosted in Alumni Hall. Feature home contests during that opening stretch including a four-game homestand surrounding the week of Thanksgiving with the 2021 Navy Classic as the capping event on Nov. 27 and 28. The field for the two-day tournament consists of Bowling Green, which reached the third round of the 2021 WNIT, Liberty, which placed second in the Atlantic Sun last year and local rival George Mason.
A pair of road games at Maryland Eastern Shore on Dec. 5 and Rider on Dec. 12 round out the non-conference schedule for Navy before the Mids open Patriot League play Dec. 29 at home against Holy Cross. Following that league opener, Navy will be on the road for three of the next four games, including trips to Boston U. on Jan. 2 and Colgate on Jan. 12. Patriot League action hits a rivalry note for Navy twice in-season as the Mids play host to the Army Black Knights on Jan. 22 in Annapolis before heading north to West Point on Feb. 12 for the second half of the home-and-home series. The Patriot League regular season is scheduled to conclude for Navy on March 2 versus Lehigh.
Each round of the Patriot League Tournament will once again be contested at the home of the higher-seeded team playing in each individual game. The tournament will be held March 5, first round; March 7, quarterfinals; March 10, semifinals; and March 13, final.
Men's Schedule
The Navy men's team, which won the Patriot League's South Division and earned the No. 1 seed in the league tournament in 2021, begins its 115th season by facing teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference in each of its first three games. The Mids open the year at Virginia on Nov. 9, return home to face Virginia Tech on Nov. 12 during the Veterans Classic and close the stretch Nov. 15 at Louisville. The Mids dropped a hard-fought 65-56 decision to the Cavaliers two years ago, last played the Hokies 13 years ago and last hosted a game in the series on Jan. 23, 1960, and will be playing the Cardinals for the second time and first since the 1972-73 season.
Additional non-league games of note are at 2021 Northeast Conference Tournament-champion Mount St. Mary's (Nov. 27.) and George Mason (Dec. 7) and home games against William & Mary (Dec. 1) and Towson (Dec. 22).
