ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's golf team is looking to ride a pair of impressive performances into this weekend in Delaware, as the Midshipmen head to the Lady Blue Hen's Ninth Annual Battle at the Beach on Saturday and Sunday.
Being hosted by the University of Delaware at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del., the 54-hole tournament will feature a par-72, 6169-yard course. Saturday's shotgun start for the first two rounds is set for 8:30 a.m., while Sunday's final round is slated for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Navy is one of 12 teams participating in the Battle at the Beach, alongside the host Blue Hens, fellow Patriot League member Bucknell, a Harvard squad that is ranked No. 37 by GolfStat and a 101st-ranked Penn team … Other teams competing are Dartmouth, Delaware State, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall, St. John's, William & Mary and Youngstown State.

Eve Worden had her best round of the week on Tuesday, using the final 18 holes to raise herself into a tie for 36th in stroke play at the Seminole Golf Club … Worden was able to come away with a 16-over par 232 performance over 54 holes, posting four birdies along the way, including making two on the final day en route to a 2-over par 74 final round.
Hirtle Named PL Golfer of the Week
Winning the honor for the second-straight week, Hirtle was named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following her performance down in Kitty Hawk, N.C. … She shot three-straight rounds of 5-over par 77 to place first on the leaderboard, and claimed the fifth league weekly honor of her career after winning PL Golfer of the Week distinction three times last season.
Battle at the Beach History
This will be the sixth time since 2014 that the Mids make the trip to Delaware's fall tournament in Rehoboth Beach, going in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 … Last year saw Navy finish seventh out of 12 teams at 58-over par 922, as Hirtle finished 18th with a 12-over par 228 over the three-round, 54-hole invitational, and Worden was just behind her at 14-over par 230.
