Five Starting Notes
– UC San Diego will be just the second team from the state of California to play a game in Annapolis. The lone other time the Mids have played host to a team from the Golden State was in 1995-96 when Stanford played in Alumni Hall.
– Navy last played a team from California on Nov. 19, 2010, when the Mids played at UC Irvine.
– Sunday's Youngstown State game will be just the fifth for the Mids against a team from Ohio in Alumni Hall (Ohio: 2001-02, 2003-04; Ohio State: 2016-17) and the eighth game against a team from the state to be played in Annapolis.
– Navy last played a team from Ohio –– regardless of the location of the game –– on Nov. 11, 2016, when the Mids faced Ohio State as part of the Veterans Classic.
– Each Navy's first three home opponents this season –– Princeton, UC San Diego, Youngstown State –– are making their first respective trip to Alumni Hall. That will bring the total number of opponents Navy will have played in the facility to 105. The Mids had played 16 prior games against Princeton in other venues in The Yard.
