Brett Brady was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Navy men's and women's cross country teams, winners of the 2022 Patriot League Championship, continued to leave their mark on the conference as three Midshipmen student-athletes were selected to the 2022 Patriot League All-Academic Teams on Wednesday morning. Brett Brady (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the group of academic achievers as the 2022 Patriot League Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, marking the second consecutive season that he has earned the conference's top academic accolade. In addition to Brady's top honor, Sam Keeny (Annapolis, Md.) and Emily Boutin (Chicopee, Mass.) were also selected to the eight- and seven-member Academic All-Patriot League men's and women's squads, respectively.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each sport comprises the pool of nominees for the overall Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, given out over the summer. One male and one female are selected for this honor.

Boutin was named to the All-Academic team for the first time in her career. The English major was the 2022 Patriot League Cross Country Champion clocking a winning time of 20:36.8 in the 6K race. Boutin is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree for cross country, earning first team distinction in 2022 and claiming second-team honors in 2021. In addition, she is an ECAC All-East honoree in the 3,000m during the 2021 outdoor track and field season.
