ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The annual Army-Navy swimming and diving meet will take place Friday evening at Crandall Pool in West Point, N.Y. The Star Meet, part of the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA, begins at 4 p.m. with one round of men's and women's diving events. The swimming portion of the meet begins at 5 p.m. The second round of diving will occur later in the swimming portion of the meet.
The meet will be streamed by ESPN+, starting with the opening diving boards.
The Navy men's team has posted a 7-0 record in dual meets this year, the Navy women's team has tallied a 6-1 record, the Army men's team enters the meet with a 4-1 record and the Army women's team has posted a 2-2 record.
Women's Series History
Navy holds a 37-4 advantage in the all-time series, a lead that includes a 16-3 edge in meets contested in West Point. The Mids have won 33 consecutive meets in the series, which is the longest winning streak by any team in any sport in Army-Navy series history. The last Army victory occurred Dec. 1, 1988.
2021-22 Women's Recap
Navy recorded a 230-70 victory over Army when the team's met last season in Annapolis. The Mids won 15 events a year ago to top the 200-point mark against Army for the fourth time in five years.
Navy won all but the 100 back race during the 16-event dual. However, the Mids return only four swimmers who won an individual event last season.
Cameron Horner (Jr., Hebron, Md.) was the winner of the 1000 freestyle,
Riley Gavigan (Jr., East Setauket, N.Y.) won the 100 breaststroke,
Gabi Baldwin (Jr., Lake Elms, Minn.) won the 200 backstroke and
Haley Harris (So., St. John's, Fla.) finished in first place in the 200 individual medley.
2022-23 Navy Women
Navy enters the meet with a 6-1 record in dual meets this season. The Mids last competed in a dual meet on Nov. 5 when they defeated American, Bucknell and Lafayette. Navy also recorded a 181-119 win over Boston College on Oct. 8.
2022-23 Army Women
Army has split its four dual meets this season. One of the two losses for the Black Knights was a 151.5-148.5 defeat to Boston College.
2022-23 Women's Top Times / Scores
The Army team has combined to record the top time or score in the Patriot League this season in six of the 16 events that will be contested Friday. Navy entrants lead the league in two events this year. Neither school has a swimmer or diver ranked first in the league in eight events. In those eight remaining events, the Mids rank ahead of the Black Knights in five events and Army swimmers or divers rank ahead of Navy in three events.
Men's Series History
Navy leads the overall series with Army by the count of 55-29 and also holds a 24-16 advantage in meets contested in West Point. The Mids enter the meet on a 31-year winning streak, which ranks second to the Navy women's swimming and diving team for the longest winning streak in Army-Navy history. Navy last lost a meet to Army on Dec. 1, 1990.
2021-22 Men's Recap
Navy never trailed in last year's meet in Annapolis, but was in front by the score of 104-103 before it won the last four individual events to hang on for a 158-142 victory. Navy won nine events in all to win the closest meet in the series since it posted a 156.5-143.5 win during the 2016-17 dual.
The Mids return three swimmers and one diver who accounted for four of the team's eight individual event wins last season (Navy also won the 200 medley relay). Returning for the Mids are
Garrett McGovern (Jr., Nashville, Tenn.), who won the 1000 free last year,
Everet Andrew (So., Wilmette, Ill.), the winner of the 500 free,
Jonah Harm (Jr., Placerville, Calif.), who won the 100 fly, and
George Moore (Jr., New Albany, Ind.), who placed first on the three-meter diving board.
Army returns two swimmers who recorded three of the team's six individual event victories last year (the Black Knights also won the 400 free relay). Returning for the Black Knights are Tanner Falls, who won the 200 free a year ago, and Owen Harlow, who won both sprint freestyle races.
2022-23 Navy Men
Navy has posted a 7-0 record in dual meets this season. Most recently, the Mids defeated fellow Patriot League teams American, Bucknell and Lafayette. Navy also defeated Boston College, 202.5-97.5, on October 8.
2022-23 Army Men
Army's team has tallied a 4-1 record this year. Included among the team's wins was a 195-104 victory over Boston College on Oct. 28.

Army swimmers and divers have combined to post the top time or score in the Patriot League this season in nine events. Navy swimmers and divers rank atop the league in four events this year. Additionally, Navy swimmers are ranked ahead of their Army counterparts in the three remaining events in which neither academy swimmer has posted the top time in the league.
