Road Stretch Closes with Sunday Game at Towson

A stretch of four-straight road games played in four different states come to a close Sunday for the Navy (5-4) men's basketball team when the Mids play at Towson (8-2) at 4 p.m. 

Five Starting Notes
1 – The teams are meeting for the second year in a row and the fourth time in a decade.
2 – Towson defeated Navy, 69-52, when the teams met last season in Annapolis.  The Mids return six players who totaled 22 points in the game and the Tigers bring back five players who scored 60 points in last season's meeting.
3 – The last time Navy played at Towson was Nov. 8, 2013, in what was the first men's basketball regular season game to be played in SECU Arena.
4 – Sunday's game will be Navy's fourth in a row away from Annapolis.  The Mids will have played each of those four games in different states (Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland).
5 – Navy's lone home game in a span of seven games will be Dec. 18 when the Mids play host to Washington (Md.).

•     The game will be televised by NBS Sports Washington.
•    It will be streamed through FloHoops.com.
•     The game will be carried on WNAV (AM-1430, FM-99.9, www.wnav.com) and on WFED (AM-1500, FederalNewsRadio.com).
•     Live statistics will be available for the game through NavySports.com.

Last Game - West Virginia 85, Navy 64
•    West Virginia opened up a lead of as many as 18 points in the first half before Navy cut it to 48-38 at the half.
•    It was an eight-point game after the first possession of the second half, then the Mids closed to within five points at 54-59 with 14:18 remaining.
•    The margin was six (58-52) at the 12:55 mark, then the Mids had two free throw attempts on their next trip down the court to cut unto the margin more.  Both attempts were missed.
•    The Mountaineers made three-point field goals on each of their next three possessions to take a 67-54 lead with 10:57 remaining.  The margin would stay in double figures the rest of the game.
•    Rebounding and foul shooting was the difference in the game as West Virginia held a 38-23 lead on the glass and made 10-16 foul shots in contrast to the 3-8 effort by the Mids.
•    Austin Benigni scored 20 points to lead Navy.

About Towson
•    Towson tallied a 25-9 record a year ago and won the CAA regular season with a 15-3 record.  The Tigers lost in the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
•    Towson received 12 of the 13 first-place votes in this year's conference preseason poll to outdistance the rest of the teams in the balloting.
•    The Tigers enter the game with an 8-2 record on the year.  Towson lost an 80-75 decision at Clemson Wednesday night.

Navy-Towson Series
•    Towson leads the all-time series with Navy by the count of 9-5.  This includes a 4-2 lead for the Tigers in games player on their home floor.  
•    Towson won last year's game in Annapolis, 69-52.

Navy vs. CAA
•    Navy has compiled an 98-57 record against teams currently in the Colonial Athletic Association.  
•    That record includes a 74-59 win for the Mids over William & Mary in this year's season opener.

Towson vs. Patriot League
•    Towson has posted a 76-125 record against Patriot League teams.

Miscellaneous Game Records
•    Navy has posted a 10-8 record in games played on Dec. 11.
•    The Mids have tallied a 190-75 record against teams located in Maryland.
