The 25th-ranked Navy squash team (13-4) saw its eight-match winning streak come to an end over the weekend, as the Mids played a man short in losses to #22 Bates (4-1), #20 Colby (3-3) and #21 Bowdoin (3-2). Bates dealt Navy a 6-3 loss on Friday, its first setback since dropping a 9-0 decision to fourth-ranked Virginia on Nov. 8. Colby cruised to an 8-1 win against the Mids on Saturday, while Bowdoin edged the Mids 5-4 in a Sunday matinee.

Weekend Highlights
• Alexander Orr (Fr / Haverford, Pa.) was the class of the field, as he put together a 3-0 record on the weekend, including Navy's lone win against Colby.
• Orr sits atop Navy's wins leader board this winter with a 15-1 mark, playing primarily the #6 spot on the ladder
• Henry Sparkman (Jr / Darien, Conn.) and Matt Wang (So / Malvern, Pa.) put solid performances together, as both picked up wins against their Bates and Bowdoin opponents
• Sparkman earned a gritty five-game victory over Bates' Jonathan Walker (15-13, 11-7, 9-11, 15-17, 11-9) and closed out the weekend with a 3-0 sweep against Bowdoin's Jackson Rho (11-7, 12-10, 12-10)
• Wang, meanwhile, also earned a gutty victory over Harris Ramlee of Bates in his opener. Ramlee built a 2-0 lead, but Wang fought back with three-consecutive game wins - 11-8, 11-6, 13-11 - to win the match. Wang also needed five to get past Bowdoin's Deven Kanwal. Wang won the opening game (11-6), but Kanwal battled back to take a 2-1 advantage (11-8, 11-6). Wang, however, won games four (11-4) and five (15-13) to take the match.
• Sparkman and Wang are second on the team in the wins column with 13 apiece.
• After coming up short in four games against his Bates and Colby matches, Tommy Rankin (Sr / Atlanta, Ga.) concluded the weekend by defeating Abhiroop Reddy of Bowdoin in three games (11-8, 11-3, 11-7).

What's Ahead
• Navy will be off the rest of the month to focus on final exams and observe the holiday break.
• The Mids will return to action Jan. 6 when it plays host to #23 Middlebury (5:00 pm) at the Prager Family Squash Facility in Annapolis. The first of three matches that weekend, Navy will also play host to #14 Williams (Jan. 7, 2:00 pm) and #18 Amherst (Jan. 8, 1:00 pm)
