The 24th-ranked Navy squash team (12-10) will play its final regular season matches before the College Squash Association Team Championship when the Mids travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to face #13 Chatham (8-3) and #12 Western Ontario (3-2). Navy opens the weekend with a Saturday morning (11:30 am) match against Chatham at the Rivers Club in what will be the Cougars' first home match of the 2021-22 campaign. The Mids will then play Western Ontario on Sunday at 9:00 am at Shadyside Academy in Pittsburgh.

A Look Back
Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship
• The 23rd-ranked Navy squash team put forth a hard-fought effort at the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championship, placing sixth after dropping a pair of 5-4 heartbreakers to #14 Franklin & Marshall in the opening round and #24 Dickinson in the fifth-place match. Navy also lost a 9-0 decision to #8 Drexel, who was upset by #9 Virginia in the finals.
• Navy's
Henry Sparkman and
Lucas Spiro paved the way for the Mids with each picking up a pair of wins. Sparkman won a four-game match over Franklin & Marshall's Michael Tallentire at the #5 spot and swept Dickinson's Osuman Imoro. Spiro, meanwhile, scored 3-0 wins over Franklin & Marshall's Allen Tompkins and Dickinson's Aidan Ray at #6.

• The Cougars enter the weekend having played all 11 of their matches on the road where they have put together a 7-0 mark in neutral site matches and a 1-3 record in true road contests.
• Winners of six of its last seven matches, Chatham had won six in a row before dropping a 5-0 loss to #8 Virginia in Charlottesville on Jan. 29. The Cougars have been off since that match.
• Leading the way in the wins column for Chatham is Jared Nalliah (Fr / Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) who has turned in an 8-2 record at the #2 position. Meanwhile, Mohamed Sadek (Jr / Cairo, Egypt) and Lucas Oliveira (Fr / Belo Horizone, Brazil), who play the # 5 and 6 positions respectively, have amassed seven wins apiece.
Navy vs. Western Ontario: The Series
• Western Ontario owns a 9-5 advantage against Navy in a series that began on Feb. 23, 1992, with an 8-1 victory by Western at the ISA Championship in New Haven, Conn.
• Eleven of the 14 matches between the two programs have been played on neutral ground with Western Ontario holding an 8-3 advantage.
• The two teams last met on Nov. 2, 2019, when Western Ontario dealt Navy an 8-1 loss at a neutral court in Ontario, Canada.
• Navy's last win in the series came on Nov. 10, 2018, when the Mids won 5-4 in Annapolis.

• Western enters the weekend with a 3-2 record, defeating MIT (5-4), Middlebury (9-0) and St. Lawrence (6-3), while dropping back-to-back dates against Columbia (9-0) and Yale (9-0).
• Due to COVID restrictions, however, Western has not played a match since Nov. 20 at St. Lawrence.
• Prior to their match against the Mids on Sunday, the Mustangs will play at Cornell on Friday and Chatham on Saturday.
