The 24th-ranked and seventh-seeded Navy squash team (12-12) will face second-seeded Brown (5-5) on Friday at 6:30 pm in its quest to win the Summers Cup at the 2022 College Squash Association (CSA) National Collegiate Team Championships held this weekend with Penn serving as the host. Joining the Mids in the Summers Division are (#17) St. Lawrence, (#18) Brown, (#19) Bowdoin, (#20) Amherst, (#21) Bates, (#22) Tufts, (#23) Dickinson and (#25) Middlebury, who are vying for the No. 17-24 positions in the tournament.
Thirty-three varsity programs will compete across four divisions this weekend: Potter Division (teams ranked No. 1-8)—which determines the team national champion, Hoehn Division (9-16), Summers Division (17-24), and Conroy Division (25-33).

Spectator Policies
• Spectators will be allowed to attend the event in person as long as they present their personal identification and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

Navy vs. Brown: The Series
• Navy and Brown will meet for the 19th time in the series and first since 2020 when they square off in the opening round of the CSA Team Championship on Friday evening.
• The series is split down the middle at 9 wins apiece with Brown holding an 8-7 advantage in matches played at a neutral site.
• The series began on Nov. 29, 1989, with the Mids taking a 7-2 victory in a match played in Amherst, Mass.
• Ten of the 18 meetings have taken place at either the NISRA or CSA Championship with Brown holding a 7-3 advantage in those matches.
• Navy scored a 7-2 victory over Brown the last time the two met at the CSA Team Championship, played on Feb. 24, 2013.
• Brown snapped a four-match losing skid to the Mids on Jan. 14, 2020 by defeating Navy 6-3 in what was the last meeting between the two programs.

• In its first season as a club program (Brown dropped squash as a varsity sport during the pandemic), the Bears put together a 5-5 record. Brown's wins were against Wesleyan (8-1), Middlebury (6-3), Connecticut College (9-0), Tufts (5-4) and Bowdoin (5-4). It has losses to Dartmouth (8-1), St. Lawrence (8-1), MIT (7-2), Yale (9-0) and Harvard (9-0)
• The Bears had won four in a row prior to their last regular-season match last Saturday against Dartmouth, who yielded just one individual match.
• Top player Grant Sterman has produced a 4-6 record on the year, while Ahmed Amin stands atop the wins leader board with a 6-3 record at #2. Blake Roshkoff has split his 10 matches, while #4 Declan McCarthy also has 6 wins and a 6-4 mark on the year.
Against the Field
Navy put together a combined 1-3 record against the other seven Summers Division competitors this season, splitting matches against Dickinson (W, 6-3 / L, 4-5), falling by a 6-3 decision to Amherst and dropping a 6-3 match to Middlebury. The Mids did not play St. Lawrence, Brown, Bates or Tufts. Depending on the outcome of its match against Brown, Navy will play either Amherst or Dickinson on Saturday at 6:30 pm.

• Navy will send a handful of players to compete at the National Collegiate Individual Championship slated for March 4-6 at Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
• The 2022 U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship will also be held in conjunction with the National Collegiate Individual Championship at the same venue.
