BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the second consecutive week, the Navy women's rowing team was spotlighted in the Patriot League's weekly awards announcement. Coming off of a strong performance at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Sunday, the Mids' second varsity eight crew was selected as the Patriot League Boat of the Week.

Racing against a field of No. 13 Syracuse, R/V Tulsa, Cornell, UMass and George Washington in heat three of the 2V8 competition, the Orange and Mids finished one-two as Navy clocked in at 6:46.29. Syracuse's time of 6:31.75 was the fastest in the 2V8 classification. Overall, Navy was set to compete in the grand finals as the fourth seed. The Mids' time was 1.29 seconds behind the third-seeded Rutgers Scarlet Knights, who posted a 6:45.00. Unfortunately for all of the competitors at the invitational, inclement weather later in the morning forced the race officials to cancel the championship rounds of racing.

Navy's 2V8 lineup on Sunday consisted of seniors Skylar Lodice, Stephanie Read and Hannah Prince, juniors Sophie Shelbourne and Sofia Ferguson, sophomore Brigid Welch, freshmen Noelle de Vente and Amelia Snyder. Sophomore Elle Perozzi served as the crew's coxswain.

The Mids are away from action this weekend and will pick up their spring schedule the following Saturday with a three-team competition at Overpeck Park in Northern New Jersey against Columbia and Northeastern.
