ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team (28-10, 7-0) did not drop a set in posting a 7-0 victory over Loyola (6-8, 2-4), Wednesday afternoon at the USNA Tennis Courts in Annapolis.  The Mids also defeated Harford Community College (8-6) by the same score in a match played in Bel Air.

Navy's three doubles teams all won by the identical score of 6-1 in the team's match against Loyola.  Finn Garner (Jr., Arnold, Md.) and Gavin Segraves (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) defeated Matt Cardano and Edik Pribitkin at No. 2 doubles in the first match to finish.  The Mids earned the doubles point when their No. 3 tandem of Jake Fishkin (Sr., Baltimore, Md.) and Jack McBride (Sr., Chapel Hill, N.C.) topped Oliver Davey and Liam Rompere.  Completing the doubles sweep was the No. 1 duo of Sasha Panyan (So., Lutherville, Md.) and Derrick Thompson (Sr., Towson, Md.) as the pairing defeated George Cavo and Skyler Gates.

Panyan quickly won a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Ryan Boland at No. 6 singles to make the score 2-0.  Fishkin followed with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Rompere at the No. 5 flight.  Thompson then defeated Gates, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles for the fourth point of the match.

Garner was the next Mid to finish as he defeated Cardano, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.  McBride won a 6-1, 7-5 decision over Cavo at No. 4, then Segraves topped Pribitkin, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 in the last match of the day.

Navy also won each set in its match at Harford.  That started with the Mids sweeping the three doubles matches.  Conners O'Brien (Sr., Rensselaer, N.Y.) and Christian Pumpelly (Jr., Atlanta, Ga.) won a 6-1 match at the No. 2 flight, then Andres Ballesteros (Jr., West Hartford, Conn.) and Jan Kjellberg (Sr., White Plains, N.Y.) combined for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.  Jack Dabek (Sr., Dublin, Ohio) and Luke Garner (Fr., Arnold, Md.) finished doubles play with a 6-2 win at the No. 1 position.

Nicholas Nguyen (So., McLean, Va.) led a 6-0, 3-0, when his No. 3 singles opponent retired to give Navy its second point.  The Mids quickly made it to four points when neither O'Brien at No. 4 nor Dabek at No. 1 dropped a game in winning their respective matches.

Completing play was Garner winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, Vagner posting a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 and Eric Liu (So., Canton, Mich.) recording a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles.

Navy will close its regular season Saturday when the Mids play host to Army at 1 p.m. on the USNA Tennis Courts.
