BETHLEHEM, Pa. ‑- The Navy men's tennis team received the top seed for the Patriot League Tournament that will be contested this week in Annapolis.
The nine-team field begins play Thursday at 1 p.m. with a first-round match between No. 8 Holy Cross and No. 9 Lafayette. The winner of that match will advance to Friday's quarterfinal round where it will face the Mids at 8:30 a.m. in the first of four matches scheduled on the day. The two semifinal round matches will be contested Saturday and the final will be played Sunday at 1 p.m.
The outdoor courts located just inside of gate 1 at the U.S. Naval Academy will serve as the primary site for the tournament. Matches will move to the Tose Family Tennis Center should poor weather force play indoors.
For the matches being played on the USNA Tennis Courts, fans without a Department of Defense-approved ID card will not be allowed to drive onto The Yard. Those fans must park outside of the USNA gates and walk through the gate one security center.
No matter how someone accesses the USNA, those ages 18 and older must present a photo ID card to gain entry and those ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Navy posted an 8-0 record against Patriot League foes this season to earn the No. 1 seed.
