Men’s Tennis Home for Saturday Doubleheader

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team will be home for a pair of matches on Saturday when the Mids (17-17, 1-1) play host to Coppin State (1-8) at 9 a.m. and Loyola (1-11, 0-3) at noon.  Both matches are slated to be played outdoors at the USNA Tennis Courts.

Navy will hold its annual senior day ceremony for the Class of 2026 –– Aniketh Ayinala, J.J. Etterbeek and Herrick Legaspi –– at 11:45 a.m.

Fan Access Information
Fans without prior authorization will not be allowed to either walk or drive onto the USNA grounds.  They instead must park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and ride the shuttle bus.  Enter the blue / west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401).  There is a $10 per vehicle parking fee.  The free fan shuttle bus will leave from and return to the Blue Angel jet.  Everyone ages 18 and over must have either a state issued driver's license with REAL ID or a U.S. government issued passport.  Visitors ages 17 and younger without a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult.  Foreign passports are not permitted for general access.

The shuttle will ONLY be transporting fans TO the matches from 8:15-9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  However, it will be available to return fans to the stadium from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Navy
The Mids lost a pair of matches last weekend, losing a 4-3 decision at Lehigh and falling 4-0 to No. 75 Kennesaw State in a match played in Annapolis.  Navy has tallied a 1-5 record this year in matches decided by the final score of 4-3.

Etterbeek, Legaspi and Charlie Spencer all have won a pair of Patriot League singles matches this spring.  Additionally, Ayinala (12-4), Etterbeek (12-7) and Legaspi (11-5) are pacing the Mids in singles wins this season.

Etterbeek is the lone Mid on the team to have posted a 2-0 record in league doubles matches.  Meanwhile, Jake Young has tallied a 14-3 record in doubles this spring to lead the team in victories.  He has recorded four more wins this season than Lachlan Buckingham (10-8), George Cutone (10-5) and Tommy Kim (10-8).

Coppin State
The Eagles have posted a 1-8 record this season, which includes a 0-3 mark against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponents.  Two of Coppin State's losses were a 6-1 defeat to Lafayette and a 7-0 loss to Villanova.

Loyola
The Greyhounds will face Lehigh on Friday prior to playing the Mids on Saturday.

Loyola's Patriot League losses this year have come to Bucknell (7-0), Boston (4-1) and Lafayette (4-1).  The Mids posted a 7-0 victory over the Terriers and will play both the Bison and the Leopards next weekend.

Navy and Loyola have played Mount St. Mary's, Villanova, Morgan State and Georgetown this spring.  The Greyhounds lost all four of those matches with the Mids beating all but Morgan State.
