Track and Field Registers Solid Performance at George Mason Spring Invitational

Navy posted 28 top 10 finishes in the 23-team invitational meet.

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Navy track and field team posted a solid performance at the George Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday at George Mason Stadium. The Midshipmen recorded 28 top-10 finishes on the day during the 23-team invitational meet.

"It was a solid performance today," Director of Navy Track and Field / Cross Country Jamie Cook said of the meet. "There were some young people who stepped up. That is what it is always about, is opportunities and continuing the momentum that we have gained through the early part of the season. I was really happy with what I saw. We are always looking for how to formulate our best team as we get towards the bigger meets. Having more of these meets with a lot of competitors gives us opportunities you don't always get in a dual meet. It is definitely a needed meet for a lot of our athletes."
