ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team will have 14 student-athletes represent the Academy at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Rounds at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. The 14 student-athletes are competing in nine events at the NCAA Regional meet.
The NCAA East Preliminaries begins on Wednesday, May 25, through Saturday, May 28. The meet is broken up with competition on the men's side taking place on Wednesday and Friday, and the women's portion happening on Thursday and Saturday. Based on the schedule of events, Navy will compete on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

The 14 Navy competitors are the second most for the Midshipmen under Director of Navy Track and Field / Cross Country
Jamie Cook. The Mids had 16 competitors in 2021 with 13 in 2019 and six in 2018.
Day one of competition begins with Boamah competing in the hammer throw, while Fox and Presser take part in the javelin. Dailey is set to participate in the long jump with Vick racing in the 110m hurdles. Crispi and Rudisaile close out the field events on day one for the Midshipmen in the pole vault, while Casey and Rizzo conclude the first day of competition in the 800m run.
Friday action includes Bailey in the high jump. Based off of qualifier results on Wednesday, Casey (800m), Rizzo (800m), and Vick (110m hurdles) may also compete on Friday.
On Saturday, the Navy women's competition opens with Buchanan and Lowenstein taking part in the high jump. Abraham and Boese closes out the day for the Midshipmen in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earned a berth into the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks at both the East and West Preliminary Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
