BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy women's tennis standouts
Kacey Moore (Sr., Wellington, Fla.) and
Emily Tannenbaum (Fr., Commack, N.Y.) represented the Midshipmen on the All-Patriot League teams, which were announced by the league office on Monday. Tannenbaum was named a first-team selection, while Moore was awarded second-team recognition. Additionally, Tannenbaum was honored as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to earn the award.

Along with becoming the first Navy women's tennis player to be named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Tannenbaum becomes just the second player in team history to earn a major award from the league. The newcomer joins Emani Decquir who was selected as the Patriot League Player of the Year following the 2013 season.

Tannenbaum went wire-to-wire in leading the way for the Midshipmen in singles, posting a team-best 24-11 record that included a 14-5 mark in dual matches and a perfect 4-0 record in Patriot League play. The freshman posted a 3-1 record at the No. 1 singles, followed by a stellar 9-3 mark at the No. 2 position and a 2-1 record in No. 3 matches.

The standout also recorded a team-high 23 victories in doubles play, bringing her combined win total to 47, the second-highest combined total for a single season in team history.

Moore earned her second-consecutive All-Patriot League honor after posting 22 wins on the singles circuit in 2021-22, with 14 of the victories coming in dual contests. The senior played to a 4-1 record in Patriot League matches and picked up seven wins in her last 10 singles contests. The standout also took a team-high nine decisions at the No. 3 singles, in addition to securing five wins at the No. 2 position.

Over her four seasons in Annapolis, Moore totaled the fourth-most singles victories in team history (70), sixth-most combined wins (120) and finished tied for the ninth-best singles win percentage by a Navy women's tennis player at .700.

Navy finished the 2021-22 season with a 22-6 record, including a 4-1 mark in Patriot League play, which secured the Mids ninth all-time season with 20 or more wins and a berth to the league tournament semifinals.
