Mike Anti announced that rising senior
Mason MacKenzie (Henderson, Md.) has been selected by his teammates to serve as the Mids' team captain for the 2022-23 season.
MacKenzie, a three-year letter winner, has appeared in 27 matches over his first three seasons at Navy during which he has compiled averages of 560.9 points per match in smallbore and 581 points in air rifle.
Along with his efforts on the range, MacKenzie has been recognized for his efforts in the classroom, as he was named a Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholastic All-American following each of the last two seasons. The rising senior has also been named to the Naval Academy's Superintendent's List once, along with being a member of the Commandant's List and Dean's List twice.
Last season, MacKenzie proved to be a solid contributor during what was one of the top seasons in the history of the Navy rifle program. MacKenzie appeared in nine contests as a junior, recording season averages of 564.2 in smallbore and 575 in air rifle.
