COLUMBUS, Ohio – The #7 Navy rifle team concluded the 2025-26 season at the 2026 NCAA Championship at the Covelli Center on the campus of Ohio State University, finishing in sixth place. The Midshipmen carded a smallbore score of 2346 on day one, while notching a 2376 in air rifle on day two for an aggregate total of 4722.
"Solid performance for us yesterday and today," head coach
Mike Anti said after the two-day match. "I am extremely proud of our team and how they fought for every point. Everyone performed within their season average, which is all a coach can ask from their athletes."
#4 West Virginia won the overall team championship, posting an aggregate score of 4748. #3 TCU claimed second place with a 4741 with #5 Ole Miss finishing in third with a score of 4738. #1 Kentucky and #2 Nebraska tied with a score of 4736 with #7 Navy coming in sixth with a 4722. #8 Georgia Southern (4717) and #6 Alaska Fairbanks (4714) closed out the team scoring in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Freshman
Tyler Wee led the Midshipmen shooters during his first NCAA competition of his young career. The rookie posted a team-high score of 1189 with 83 centers to lead all Navy shooters in the two-day match. Senior
Parker Haydin followed with an 1185, hitting a team-high 85 centers during his final NCAA Championship match. Junior
Isabella Baldwin, who finished with 81 centers, posted a two-day aggregate score of 1181, while fellow junior
Ryan Wee notched a combined score of 1167. Senior team captain
Catherine Dely rounded out the scorers with an aggregate total of 1138 in her final collegiate competition.
"Not only is this a high-pressure competition, it is also an emotional match for our two seniors, being their last event of their collegiate career," Anti added. "Both Parker and Catherine should be very proud of their four years with the team. We will definitely miss them, but look forward to seeing them excel in their next assignments."
Day 1 Recap – Smallbore
Navy completed the first day of competition at the 2026 NCAA Championship, finishing the smallbore portion of the two-day match in sixth place with a team score of 2346.
Ole Miss finished the day with the lead, shooting a 2356 team score. The Rebels were followed by Nebraska and TCU who tied for second with a combined smallbore score of 2354. One point back was Kentucky and West Virginia who tied for fourth with a tally of 2353. Navy was sixth overall with a score of 2346 with Georgia Southern (2338 points) and Alaska Fairbanks (2334 points) rounding out the team scoring.
Four of Navy's five shooters finished the smallbore portion of the competition with a score of 580 or higher.
T. Wee led the charge for the Midshipmen with a smallbore score of 591, while Haydin recorded a smallbore score of 590. Baldwin posted a smallbore score of 585. R. Wee started the day in the first relay for the Midshipmen, posting a score of 580. Dely rounded out the scoring for the Midshipmen, posting a score of 563 on the day.
Day 2 Recap – Air Rifle
The Midshipmen completed the second day of competition, finishing the air rifle portion of the match with a team score of 2376.
West Virginia led the charge on day two, finishing with a 2395 in air rifle. TCU was second in the discipline with a 2387, while Kentucky was third with a 2383. Ole Miss and Nebraska matched one another with an air rifle score of 2382, while Alaska Fairbanks was two points back with a 2380. Georgia Southern finished seventh with a score of 2379, while Navy rounded out the team scoring with a 2376.
Three Midshipman shooters finished with a 595 or higher during the air rifle competition.
T. Wee posted a score of 598 to lead all Mids in air rifle, while Baldwin recorded an air rifle score of 596. Haydin posted an air rifle score of 595 to round out Navy's top three shooters. R. Wee posted a score of 587, while Dely closed out the scoring for the Midshipmen with a 575.
