What do you want to do after graduation and why? Work hard and make money to give back to my parents for always taking me to little league practices.
Why did you choose Navy? To lead and to fight in the most capable military force in the history of the world with the benefit of free chemistry classes along the way.
What would you tell somebody that is considering coming to Navy to play football? Get ready to pack a lunch pale and go to work every single day, even if you don't want to. Build the mental fortitude to get up and move, even if nothing else seems to be going right.
If you could play another position, what position would you play and why? I'd love to be like 5'10" and be a running back so I could carry the ball frequently.
If you could choose any opponent for Navy to play that is currently not on the schedule, who would you choose and why? I'd love to play some West Coast teams like San Diego State or something along those lines. Traveling to Cali would be sick.
Favorite class at the Naval Academy and why? Chemistry 2 because Dr. Hoelz was the absolute best.
Hardest class at the Naval Academy and why? Calculus 2. I had to actually sit down for an extended period of time and study for that one.
Favorite teacher at the Naval Academy and why? Tied between LT Marchilena and LCDR Cowden. I had legitimate fun and actually learned a lot in both of their courses. Shout out to both of them.
Favorite form of social media and why? Twitter. I love reading people's hilariously incorrect takes about pretty much everything.
Favorite person to follow on social media and why? Probably Tim Kennedy. He catches a lot of flak (which is a given for pretty much anyone with a platform on social media) but to me, he embodies the warrior poet spirit that we, as service members, strive to exemplify. Being eloquently spoken, as well as dangerous, has always been important to me, and Tim Kennedy personifies this balance.
If you could have dinner with any 4 people at the Naval Academy who would you choose and why?: I would choose Max Silva, Mike Ponenti, Vice Admiral Buck and a random Melwood worker chosen out of a hat. I just think this would be a fun night.
Favorite sport to follow at the Naval Academy outside of football and why? I would have to say Lacrosse because I have a lot of buddies on that team.
If you didn't play football at Navy, what sport would you play and why? Definitely lacrosse. They have a great team culture and I always loved the contact and brutality aspect of that sport.
What song is playing on your headphones in the locker room right before taking the field? Three way tie between The Pot by Tool, No Quarter by Led Zeppelin, and Holy Diver by Dio.
What is your dream vacation? Probably Monterey. My parents lived there for a few years and I have heard it's incredible out there. I would also swing East to Yosemite, as it is an obligation as an American to see and appreciate Yosemite when in California.
How many teams should make the FBS Playoffs? Probably like 6
Favorite Coach Niumatalolo quote: "Let's go Kent Island" during warm-ups.
One word to describe a Navy Football player: Lethal
Who will be the surprise player on offense in 2022 and why? I honestly think Anton Hall Jr. is going to have a great year. He runs with great power and is super shifty. I can easily see him doing very well.
Who will be the surprise player on defense in 2022 and why? It would have to be a tie between Colin Ramos and Jianni Woodson-Brooks. Both guys have put in a lot of work and I think they will both do very well in the middle this year.
Who is the toughest player on the Navy football team and why? Terrell and Josh Adams are two guys I look up to a lot. Both guys have been through extreme adversity in the last year and displayed an absolutely unshakable demeanor. Two absolutely phenomenal dudes.
What player epitomizes Navy Football and why? I would have to say Bijan Nichols like everyone else. I had the pleasure of lifting with Bijan over the last offseason and his stoic attitude approaching our day-to-day grind mixed with his laid back, yet hyper-focused demeanor inspired me to come in and work hard every day.
Who will be the Most Valuable Player on offense in 2022 and why? Tai Lavatai. Absolutely fearless player who could run through a brick wall and get back in the huddle for the next play with no hesitation. Also a great locker room guy.
Who will be the Most Valuable Player on defense in 2022 and why? I think John Marshall is going to have a stellar year. Phenomenal leader and captain, as well as an absolute assassin on defense. I'm super excited to see the year he has.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022? Another year of making memories with the boys. The days are long, the season is short and the way we evolve as a team week to week is an incredibly fulfilling feeling.
