Navy Men's Team Update
The Mids dropped a pair of meets last weekend to No. 23 Notre Dame (234-119) and Princeton (252-101).  The three teams competed in a two-day extended dual meet of 19 events.

Jackson Schultz (Sr., Millersville, Md.) won the 100 breaststroke during the meet and also placed second in the 200 breast.  Joining him in earning silver medals were Everet Andrew (So., Wilmette, Ill.) in the 200 free and Jonah Harm (Jr., Placerville, Calif.) in the 100 fly.  Navy also totaled four third-place showings during the individual event portion of the meet.

Columbia Preview
The Lions improved their record on the year to 5-1 with a 180-120 victory over Brown last weekend.  It was Columbia's first meet since Dec. 2-4 and first dual meet since Nov. 18.

2022-23 Common Opponents
Navy and Columbia have each faced Army and Princeton this season.  The Mids lost to both foes and the Lions defeated both the Black Knights and the Tigers.

Navy-Columbia Series History
Navy and Columbia first met during the 2014-15 season.  The teams met annually from 1926-27 through the 1969-70 seasons, then again from 1977-78 through the 2019-20 campaign.  Competition was halted in 2020-21 when the Ivy League suspended all sports for the academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series resumed last season in New York City with Navy winning, 169-131, to take a 66-26 advantage in the all-time series.

Navy Women's Team Update
The Navy women's team lost meets to both Notre Dame (279-74) and Princeton (278-75) last weekend in Annapolis.

Cameron Horner (Jr., Hebron, Md.) had the best placing for the Mids in an event as she finished in second place in the 200 freestyle.  Teammate Lauren Walsh (Fr., Shelton, Conn.) recorded fourth-place showings in the 200 breast and 200 IM races.

James Madison Preview
James Madison earned a 164-136 win over Marshall last weekend to end a six-week break in its schedule.

2022-23 Common Opponents
Navy has posted a victory over George Washington this season while James Madison dropped its meet against the Colonials.  Both of those meets were contested in October.  The Dukes also defeated a Richmond team that the Mids will play host to on Jan. 27.

Navy-James Madison Series History
The teams enter Saturday with each having won nine meets in the series.  The majority of the meets in the series occurred in the early days of the Navy women's program as they met each year from the 1980-81 through 1991-92 seasons.  The teams have met on just six occasions since then and have not faced each other since Oct. 11, 2011, when James Madison won a 187-113 decision in its home pool.
