ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Members of the Navy tennis teams will travel to the West Coast this weekend to compete in the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic. The event runs Friday through Sunday and will be held at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Complex on the University of San Diego campus.
Additionally, the remainder of the men's team will take part in the Navy Gold Invitational in Annapolis over the next three days.

The Navy men's team will send
Aniketh Ayinala,
Luke Garner,
Nathan Nguyen and
Sasha Panyan to the event. Representing the Navy women's team are
Sia Chaudry,
Samantha Johns,
Stella Ribaudo and
Emily Tannenbaum.
The event features a team vs. team schedule but without any team scoring.
Each Navy team will face players in singles and doubles from San Diego, with the men also competing against Pepperdine, San Diego State and Boise State and the women going up against players from Loyola Marymount and Denver.
Garner and Panyan are returning to the tournament for the second year in a row. The duo formed a doubles team that posted a 1-2 record last year, while Panyan also compiled a 2-1 record in singles and Garner finished the weekend with a 1-2 record.
Both Ribaudo and Tannenbaum represented Navy at last year's event, with Tannenbaum taking home Women's Tournament MVP honors after she posted a 3-0 record in singles and a 2-1 record in doubles. Ribaudo put together a 2-1 record in doubles and a 1-2 record in singles in 2022.

Navy Gold Invitational
Play at the Navy Gold Invitational will start at 11 a.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Players will compete in small draws that feature a round-robin format. The matches will be held on the USNA Tennis Courts (outdoors) as well as across the Severn River at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium (outdoors) and the Tose Family Tennis Center (indoors).
The field consists of players from Binghamton, Coppin State, Drexel, Hampton, Harford C.C., Morgan State, Princeton, Richmond and Temple.
