Five Starting Notes
1 – VMI is playing its first game in Annapolis in nine years. The teams originally met on The Yard during the 1918-19 season.
2 – VMI is the youngest team in the country with an average age on its roster of just over 19 years old as of the start of the season. Navy ranks 15th nationally with an average age of a little more than 20 years old.
3 – VMI ranks 25th nationally with an adjusted tempo of 73.0 possessions per game (KenPom.com). Navy ranks 322nd with an average of 65.5 possessions per game.
4 – Wednesday's game will be Navy's fifth and final game in the month of November. The last time Navy played five or fewer games in November was when it played three during the 2005-06 season.

Mitch Fischer entered this season with eight points and 10 rebounds in his 10 career games played. He has recorded 31 points and 18 boards through four games this year.
Mike Woods has totaled 25 points and 15 rebounds in four games this year after he posted 33 points and 29 rebounds in 18 games last season.
Game Information
• Navy (0-4) returns home to start a brief two-game homestand Wednesday night (7 p.m.) when it plays host to VMI (2-5).
• ESPN+ will provide a video stream of the game.

Accessing the USNA
• Vehicle access to the USNA is limited to those with an approved ID card. All others must park outside of the USNA.
• Fans can park ($10 / vehicle) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Ave., Annapolis, MD, 21401) and ride the free shuttle bus.
• The shuttle bus service begins one hour prior to the start of the game and ends four hours after the game begins.
• Fans also can park downtown and walk through the gate one visitors center (52 King George St., Annapolis, MD, 21402).
• Regardless of how one accesses the USNA, those ages 18 and over must have a government issued photo identification card, such as a driver's license, and visitors ages 17 and under who do not have a valid photo ID must be accompanied by an adult.
Last Game
• The Mids fell to San Diego, 67-59, on Nov. 20 in San Diego.
• Navy took a 31-30 lead at halftime and stretched the advantage to 38-32 early in the second half.
• The Mids were held to just one field goal and four points in the next nine minutes as they fell behind, 45-42.
• It soon was a 55-46 San Diego lead with just over three minutes left.
• Navy was able to whittle it down to a 57-56 deficit with 1:40 remaining, but the Toreros were 10-10 from the foul line over the remainder of the game.

Mike Woods finished with career highs of 14 points and eight rebounds.
Austin Benigni added 14 points and five assists.
About VMI
• VMI posted an overall record of 7-25 last season and finished in 10 place in the 10-team Southern Conference with a record of 2-16.
• The Keydets placed 10th in this year's Southern Conference Preseason Poll.
• VMI enters the game with a 2-5 record on the year. The Keydets have posted a 0-5 record against Division I opponents, with those losses coming to Richmond (93-75), South Carolina (74-64), South Dakota (85-81), Northern Arizona (78-69) and Air Force (64-54).
• The team's two wins have come against Christendom (87-53) and Clarks Summit (100-63).
Navy-VMI Series
• Navy holds a 23-2 advantage in the all-time series with VMI. This includes a 19-1 lead in games played in Annapolis, as well as a 2-1 advantage in games played in Alumni Hall.
• The first meeting of the teams took place on Feb. 5, 1919, in Navy's Macdonough Hall. The Mids won, 39-17.
• Wednesday's game will be the first in the series to be played on The Yard in nine seasons (Dec. 9, 2014).
• VMI won last year's game between the teams, 80-72, in Lexington, Va. (Dec. 3, 2022).

• Navy has totaled a 37-18 record in games against teams currently in the Southern Conference.

Tony Atkinson received Marine Corps ground. Upon graduation this May he will enter the Marines as a Second Lieutenant.

Austin Inge received Navy supply corps. He will become an Ensign in the Navy on May 24, 2024.
