Men’s Basketball Heads to D.C. for Midweek Tilt at American

The final week of the Patriot League men's basketball regular season begins with Navy (17-11, 10-6) making a Wednesday trip to Washington, D.C., for a 7 p.m. game against American (15-12, 7-9).

Five Starting Notes
1 – Navy and American will meet for the 102nd time Wednesday night.  It is one of 11 series between Patriot League teams to have had at least 100 games played.
2 – Navy has assured itself of a top-four finish in the Patriot League.  This will be the seventh year in a row in which the Mids receive a first-round bye.  Only Navy and Colgate have not played in the first round in seven-straight tournaments.
3 – Daniel Deaver earned his second Patriot League Player-of-the-Week award in three weeks on Monday.  He averaged 18.0 points and 10.5 rebounds a game in Navy's two victories last week.  Deaver first posted 17 points and 13 rebounds in the team's 75-64 victory at Lehigh.  He then tallied 19 points and eight rebounds in a 65-53 home win against Loyola.  He was 7-9 from the floor in totaling 14 points and six rebounds after halftime.
4 – Deaver is the first Mid since 2014-15 to earn multiple player-of-the-week accolades from the league in a season.  Additionally, with Tyler Nelson's Feb. 13 award, it is the third time in which Mids have won three-straight weekly nods and the first since 2008-09.
5 – The Feb 25 Colgate at Navy game has been selected to air on the CBS Sports Network as part of the Patriot League's flex scheduling.  The game will start at 4 p.m. as has been scheduled all season.  The game will be Navy's fourth appearance of the season on the CBS Sports Network and its 11th since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
