Navy Swimmers and Divers Earn 24 All-League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams combined for a league-best 24 All-Patriot League honors, which are based upon individual event performances at last week's championship.

The Navy women's team won its 11th-straight league title and extended its record for the most titles won by any league team in a single sport to 21.  The Navy men's team won its 19th league title in as many years of competing at the meet.  That extends their record for the most consecutive titles won by any team in the league.

The all-league teams are determined by individual event results and point totals during the league championship.  Both the first and second teams consist of 18 members, with more added if there are any ties.  All individual event champions automatically earn first-team recognition, with the remaining first-team positions filled based upon point total.  All individual event second-place swimmers and divers not already appearing on the first team are then placed onto the second team.  The second team also is rounded out by the next highest point tallies.

Each Navy team placed six on the first team and six on the second.  For the Navy women's team, Lauren Walsh (Fr., Shelton, Conn.) earned the award based upon winning the 200 breaststroke event.  The league's rookie of the meet tied for third place with 54 individual event points.  Joining her in receiving automatic placement onto the first team was Cameron Horner (Jr., Hebron, Md.), who won the 200 freestyle title.

Additional first-team all-league honorees were Sarah Eldridge (Fr., Brielle, N.J.), Gabi Baldwin (Jr., Lake Elmo, Minn.), Tiffany Shields (So., Escondido, Calif.) and Caroline Irwin (So., Buford, Ga.).

Four members of the Navy men's team won an individual event during the meet. Jonah Harm (Jr., Placerville, Calif.), who would be named the swimmer of the meet, won the 100 fly title for the second year in a row.  Diver Blakeman Shaw (So., Coral Gables, Fla.) won both the one and three-meter events to garner the diver-of-the-year accolade.  Also, Everet Andrew (So., Wilmette, Ill.) won the 200 free and Patrick Colwell (Jr., New Canaan, Conn.) placed first in the 200 fly event.

Completing the list of first-team recipients were Jackson Schultz (Sr., Millersville, Md.) and Zach Stump (Fr., Westerville, Ohio).
