ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy gymnastics team will have its eyes securely on the upcoming postseason action at the end of the month with a trio of regular season meets over the next two weeks. First up for the No. 9 Mids (3-1) in their stretch of fine-tuning is a home meet on Sunday afternoon versus No. 12 William & Mary (1-5) at the Halsey Field House Gymnastics Facility. First touch between the two ECAC rivals is set for 2 p.m.

The Navy gymnastics team had a strong effort start-to-finish on Saturday in an ECAC league meet versus William & Mary. Taking on the Tribe in a head-to-head dual, the Mids cruised to a 28.8-point victory at the Halsey Field House in their final tune-up before next week's Army-Navy showdown, 393.3 to 365.1. Navy controlled the action throughout and outscored William & Mary in all six events, while Midshipmen gymnasts finished atop the individual standings of all six disciplines, as well.

Connor Van Loo led the Mids' individual effort as he secured dominant 0.25-point victories on both the floor exercise and vault. Fellow seniorÂ
Giovanni Gambatese posted the best score on the high bar as he won by 0.15 points. The sophomore class was also well represented on Saturday asÂ

Isaiah Drake won the pommel horse and rings events, respectively. Mandava's win was the first of his young career, while Drake's margin of victory was an impressive 0.6 points. The fifth individual winner wasÂ
Caleb Hickey, who cruised to a 0.35-point victory on the parallel bars.

As a team, Navy scored 65.8 points on the floor exercise, 63.15 on the pommel horse, 64.5 on the rings, 70.85 on the vault, 65.75 on the parallel bars and 63.25 on the high bar. The Mids were more than 4.5-points better than the Tribe on four separate events.

Last Time Out: All-Academy Championship (vs. Air Force & Army), Feb. 18
The Navy gymnastics team battled throughout Saturday night's All-Academy Championship and fell just short of defending its title for the fifth straight year as a fast start by Air Force stood up for a 3.55-point victory. The service academy tri-meet at The Ford Center at The Star was action-packed start-to-finish and saw the Mids rally in the second half making up nearly one point on the Falcons and over four points on the Black Knights of Army.

At the conclusion of the contest, Air Force was victorious with a final score of 396.55. Navy came-from-behind to overtake Army for second place down the stretch, 393.00 to 389.15.

Navy's individual performance on Saturday night was led by six top-three results, including event wins byÂ

Isaiah Drake on the high bar. Additionally, Drake posted the third-best result on the vault.Â

As a team, Navy scored 65.7 points on the floor exercise, 62.65 on the pommel horse, 64.6 on the rings, 70.3 on the vault, 65.9 on the parallel bars and 63.85 on the high bar.
Parking
Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card ... Spectators may park outside of the USNA grounds and enter the Academy through the visitors' entrance located at Gate One at the corner of King George and Randall Streets (52 King George St.). Anyone under the age of 18, and who does not have a government-issued ID, must be accompanied by an adult. Halsey Field House is located directly to the right of the visitors' entrance.
