ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's golf team returns to action on Saturday and Sunday when it hosts the annual Navy Fall Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
 
Playing at the par-72, 6,084-yard U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club, the Midshipmen and 16 other schools will open the 36-hole tournament on Saturday with first-round tee times beginning at 9 a.m., while the second round will kick off Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The Field
In addition to Patriot League foes Bucknell and Holy Cross, the Mids will welcome teams from Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hofstra, Howard, LIU, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Seton Hall, Stonehill, Towson, Wagner and William & Mary to the tournament … Lafayette and Maryland will also be sending individual players to Annapolis for the event.

Last Time Out
Navy placed ninth out of 10 teams in the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sept. 17, played at the par-72, 6,402-yard Penn State Blue Course … The Midshipmen shot a weekend-low 301 score in the first round and followed it with a 308 in Saturday's second round, closing out the event with a 316 round over the final 18 holes on Sunday to finish with a tournament score of 61-over par 925 … Senior captain Mara Hirtle and freshman Keira Howard both ended the weekend at 10-over par 226, finishing in a seven-way tie for 18th place … Senior Stephanie Lee wrapped up the tournament in a tie for 44th at 21-over par 237, while sophomore Sue Lee was 50th on the leaderboard with a 25-over par 241 … Rounding out the Navy lineup was junior Bridget Hoang in 53rd, who shot a 30-over par 246.
 
Mids at the Navy Fall Invitational
The Mids have hosted the Navy Fall Invitational in four of the past seven years, with the 2022 edition of the tournament being the first time that the host team took home first-place honors … After finishing fifth out of 16 teams in the 2016 Navy Fall Invitational, the Mids placed second out of 12 teams in the 2017 event … Following a three-year hiatus, the event returned in 2021 with Navy placing third out of 13 teams and Angelina Chan finishing tied for seventh on the player leaderboard … The 2022 Navy Fall Invitational saw four Navy women's golfers finish among the top-20 individuals as the Midshipmen shot a 40-over par 616 to take the top spot among 15 teams … A pair of Mids finished in a six-way tie for sixth place, as Hirtle and Lee both wrapped up play at 8-over par 152 … Two more Mids ended the weekend in a tie for 18th at 12-over par 156 in Hoang and former Navy captain Eve Worden.
