ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's triathlon team concludes the regular season at the Waterman's Sprint Triathlon on Sunday in Rock Hall, Md.
The NCAA women's sprint draft-legal race will start at 9 a.m. and consist of a 750m swim, a 23.5 km (14.6 mile) flat bike and a 5k (3.1 mile) flat run.
"After a couple of very competitive mid-Atlantic races, this event provides a last test of fitness and a look toward the future of racing for Navy and the northeast collegiate triathlon schools," said head coach
Billy Edwards. "This weekend's event is just over an hour away for us and is also closer for a few northeast schools. We pushed this late addition to the calendar and will hopefully showcase some of the area schools.
"We want to be a leader in providing opportunities to race. This race can also help us have a larger presence in the future with the club program, alumni, and local supporters. We look forward to competing with fellow Division I programs Delaware State and Wagner. Also excited to see the smaller schools have their important battle before we all head to our regional championships in two weeks."

Harris Continues to Lead the Pack
The consistent theme for Navy this season has been
Haley Harris leading the way. She placed eighth overall at the Giant Acorn Collegiate Cup last Sunday to post the top time for the Mids for the third-straight event.
The junior clocked in a time of 1:12:47.6 to score 83 points. Her placement was a key factor in Navy finishing in sixth place of 16 teams with 319 team points.
Harris put herself in the top 10 of the standings right off the gate with the fourth-best swim time at 10:22. She capped off the meet with the fifth-fastest run time at 19:10.
Full Lineup at Giant Acorn
The Giant Acorn Collegiate Cup marked the first time all seven Mids have competed in an event this season.
Sara Jarman returned to the lineup after missing the Duquesne Collegiate Cup with a 21st-place finish. She compiled a time of 1:14:07.9 to score 70 points.
Anna Wekluk posted the meet's eighth-best swim time at 10:28. She posted an overall time of 1:16:04.5 to place 33rd and contribute 59 points.
Emely Vela and
Madeline Klippenstein finished back-to-back in 38th and 39th, respectively. Vela registered a time of 1:17:20.0 and Klippenstein posted a time of 1:18:07.9. The duo combined to add another 107 points toward Navy's team score.
Concluding the race for the Mids were
Zoe Adama and team captain
Reagan Quilty. Adama ended with a time of 1:19:42.2 to take 47th place. Quilty completed her first full triathlon of the season and earned 59th place with a time of 1:23:53.5.
"Our team came together last week with some more solid runs with Haley (Harris), Anna (Wekluk) and Sara (Jarman) finally getting into the front of the race together. I hope they can work together again this week for a fast event," added Edwards. "The core group is continuing to hold together and this is another chance to test some pacing with regionals just over the horizon."
