ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The No. 8 Navy gymnastics team will go head-to-head with No. 15 William & Mary in both squad's initial ECAC bout of 2024 on Saturday afternoon. After beginning the season with a pair of multi-team competitions at the West Point and Navy Open, the Mids will be looking to lock in their lineups and put the finishing touches on routines one week out from the 2024 Army-Navy Star Meet. The action between Navy and William & Mary is set for a first touch at 2 p.m. in the Halsey Field House Gymnastics Facility.

Competing in its home gym for the first time in over a month, the No. 9 Navy men's gymnastics team was firing on all cylinders on Sunday afternoon with a wire-to-wire win over No. 12 William & Mary. The Mids outscored the Tribe by 2.5 or more points on three events to help the squad pull away by a final score of 393.1 to 379.7 at the Halsey Field House Gymnastics Facility. Â

Navy received strong individual efforts from across its roster as six different gymnasts grabbed first-place results over William & Mary opponents.Â
Ian Dinmore claimed first place on the floor exercise with a score of 13.55, whileÂ
Ronan McQuillan did the same on the pommel horse courtesy of a 13.9.Â

As a team, Navy registered 65.5 points on the floor exercise, 61.85 on the pommel horse, 63.0 on the rings, 71.15 on the vault, 66.9 on the parallel bars and 64.7 on the high bar. All six totals surpassed William & Mary's respective aggregates.

Last Time Out: Navy Open, last Saturday in Annapolis
The No. 7 Navy men's gymnastics team kicked off the home portion of its 2024 schedule on Saturday with its annual Navy Open. Taking on a pair of Big Ten powers in No. 5 Penn State and No. 6 Ohio State, as well as ECAC rivals No. 11 Springfield and No. 14 William & Mary at the Halsey Field House Gymnastics Facility, the Mids passed the Nittany Lions and came in second overall to the Buckeyes with 391.25 points.
The entire leaderboard on Saturday consisted of Ohio State taking first with 397.30 points, 6.05 points ahead of Navy. Penn State earned the final spot on the podium with a third-place score of 385.20, 6.05 points behind Navy. The rest of the field saw Springfield finish fourth with 372.55 points, William & Mary post a score of 366.10 for fifth place and Temple, competing as a club team, net 335.65 points.
The Mids were led by individual wins byÂ
Syam Buradagunta on the floor exercise andÂ
Isaiah Drake on the parallel bars. Additionally, Drake finished second on the vault, third on the floor exercise and fourth on the rings, while Buradagunta placed fourth on the pommel horse.Â
Matthew Petros added two more top-six results with a fourth on the vault and sixth on the pommel horse.
As a team, Navy registered 65.05 points on the floor exercise, 64.05 on the pommel horse, 62.35 on the rings, 71.9 on the vault, 65.4 on the parallel bars and 62.5 on the high bar.
Parking
Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card ... Spectators may park outside of the USNA grounds and enter the Academy through the visitors' entrance located at Gate One at the corner of King George and Randall Streets (52 King George St.). Anyone under the age of 18, and who does not have a government-issued ID, must be accompanied by an adult. Halsey Field House is located directly to the right of the visitors' entrance.
