ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Riding in on a six-match win-streak, the men's rugby team (6-0, 3-0 Rugby East) is resumes conference play at North Canton, Ohio, when it battles Walsh (2-3, 0-2) on Saturday. The match is slated for a noon kickoff.
"We are back to our Rugby East conference games and are laser focused on our practices this week to ensure we deliver another good performance," stated director of rugby Gavin Hickie.
Lt. Col. Kevin Shea Trophy
The Lt. Col. Kevin Shea trophy is returning to Annapolis for the seventh straight season after a dominant 79-14 victory for Navy men's rugby over Air Force (2-2) on Friday night at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colo.
Navy wasted little time to display its electric offense as it added three tries in the first 15 minutes. AJ Young scored the first try of the match in the fourth minute for his second score of the season. A successful conversion kick from Kade Williams afterward put Navy up 7-0. A Falcons penalty gifted a try to the Midshipmen in the 11th minute.
The Midshipmen's 13 tries against the Falcons marked the third most in a match in program history. Navy's 79 total points is also best for third in most points scored in a single match.
Navy Notes
· Following the victory over Air Force, the Mids improved to 6-0 to begin the season for the third-straight year.
· Navy sits atop of the Rugby East Standings for the sixth week in a row with 15 total points. The Mids have dominated conference opponents as they allowed a league best 38 total points to opponents. On the offensive side of the ball, the team has shown its explosive fire power scoring 108 points again league foes averaging 36 points per match.
· With a 3-0 record against divisional opponents, Navy is the only team in the Rugby East to earn bonus points by scoring four or more tries in all conference matches this season.
· Sophomore Andrew Baublitz became the fourth Midshipmen in program history reach the 100th career point milestone followed by his four try performance against Air Force.
· With 22 career tries, Baublitz already sits at second in all-time tries scored in a career and is three shy of tying Ben Haugh for the most in a career (25).
· Navy's offense has scored 35 or more points in five of the six matches this season and at least 30 points in all six matches.
· Six Mids – Matt Liszewski, Adam Mertens, Sean Donohue, AJ Young, Eric Wrzyszczynski and JD Bengston – played all 80 minutes in the most recent match against the Air Force.
· Jake Cornelius and Young are the only two Midshipmen that have competed in all six matches this season.
· Dalton Sand led the Mids in tackles with 17 in last week victories with a perfect tackle percentage.
Scouting Walsh
· In their first season as a varsity program, the Cavaliers enter the match with a 2-3 overall record with victories over Belmont Abbey (25-10) and Thomas More to open the season (62-10).
· In its most recent outing, Walsh was in a defensive battle against rival St. Bonaventure where it fell by one point, 11-10.
· The Cavaliers are 2-0 on its home pitch.

Saturday's match will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.
